  1. I saw news reports a little while ago saying 10" at Central Park. I haven't seen any offical NWS update after 1am with 6.5". 10" sounds reasonable. The wind makes it hard to measure but it looks about a foot give or take an inch here.
  2. Light fluffy snow then a layer of sleet then more fluffy snow on top. Its been low to mid 20s the entire time upper Manhattan, Bx. Its been several degrees milder into Queens, BK, so I'd imagine wetter, heavier snow there.
  3. Now moderate sleet, mixing with snow. Wind is really howling off the Sound now. Sleet was loudly blasting east/north facing windows.
  4. Dry slot gets close then seems like a moderate band move in off the Atlantic just in time for those east of SI/Sandy Hook. Dont know how long that will hold up.
  5. Its down to 23, didnt expect that. Light fluffy snow over here piling up fast. If you believe NWS and most media outlets, should be a foot or more in NYC from midtown and points north
  6. Thats what they were forecasting anyway, so perhaps it may not make it to BK, southern Queens for the most part.
  7. Light snow now, in southern end of New Rochelle, on the Sound for this one. Wonder if I will see some coastal flooding tonight. Some actual waves out there now. Few miles away in the Bx, showing 28, dew 17.
  8. the airport only reported a Trace, but reports of accumulation in the city especially in NW DC. Adams Morgan around an inch, increasing the further you go into NW DC.
  9. ABC changed their predictions, more bullish like NWS for in and around NYC. 12"-18" cutting through the middle of NYC including Manhattan, Western Qns, Bronx (tad less perhaps right on the Sound) 6"-12" SI, BK, most of Queens and then down from there.
  10. Just went to mostly wet snow while driving out of New Rochelle along the Sound into the Bronx
  11. 36, mainly flurries, occasional light snow. Looks like steady snow south of 125 St and into Qns/BK
  12. I thought Denver had a shot but that blowout was shocking. I think Lakers in 6 though.
  13. Anyone noticed an increase in mosquitos? Since late Aug its been an explosion of them here. Not only in parks and yards etc, but I'm getting bit the hell up in the middle of busy streets. The city suppose to be spraying large areas in the bx today, esp south and eastern portions.
  14. Dec 92 noreaster was a significant early memory for me. Kinda blew my mind back then.
  15. ABC 7 summer outlook calls for summer to be on the dry side and temps above normal.
  16. I was waiting for the Bronx one. It'll be interesting to compare to. I'm on the other side of the NYBG, just under 2 miles SE of Lehman.
  17. lol wow NYC 76 90+ days. So much for the overgrown vegetation.
