  1. That Chicago to Grand Rapids line has been a dry patch for sure. Even the State of Michigan, you can almost draw a line at the Indiana boundary. Nearly 80% of Michigan is in D0 or greater. Not a good look for summer. Hopefully we can score something soon.
  2. I hope you are wrong. My strawberries and blueberries seem to have survived the multiple frosts and my garden is in . Looking at getting a better watering setup in case the drought conditions continue or worsen over the summer.
  3. Michigan to follow CDC guidance, no masks indoors for vaccinated people; full mask mandate to end July 1 - mlive.com Great news, especially for those too you to get a vaccine. It would be kind of odd for a family to have the adults and 1 older kid without a mask and all the rest of their younger kids still forced to wear a mask.
  4. I might be a skeptic, but I'll believe it when I see it.
  5. 0.06" here today. Not getting rid of the D0/D1 in our area that way. On a slightly more positive note, GFS keeps hinting at wetter weather. Will it materialize?
  6. If it doesn't rain that will continue for the foreseeable future.
  7. Walk in appointments are starting to be pretty common around here also. Side effects so far have been minimal for most but did have one co-worker who mentioned having a fever and chills starting about 12 hours after the shot for about 10 hours or so.
  8. With the dryness we have had so far and everything weakening as it gets closer in I fully expect these totals to be high. Riding seasonal trends until they fail.
  9. Does anyone know what the highest percentage recorded is for at least some level of drought in the lower 48? This is not a good way to enter summer with that much D0 and higher on the map.
  10. Unfortunately we might reach herd immunity without vaccines the way things are going here.
  11. Thanks. I hadn't seen that link.
  12. Thanks for the information. I had a co-worker point me to that site and out of curiosity I selected COVID just to see. I realize some of that data is definitely random people submitting data that hasn't been examined for root cause, however how much of it is real? Hopefully they follow up and sift through that data to find what is real and what isn't. Is there another place like this where you can find verified information instead?
  13. I never said any were. I posted that because earlier it was said no one had died from COVID vaccines but this database would seem to say otherwise.
  14. Disclaimer - I am not anti vax nor am I saying I won't get the shot. I am taking a more wait and see approach. To those who say there are no deaths from the vaccine, The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) Request Form (cdc.gov). Unless I am misinterpreting the numbers, it appears there have been a number of deaths (1600+) from the COVID vaccines along with a whole host of other side effects. Most side effects are not much more than a nuisance, but this is not a 100% safe vaccine as many have stated. There are risks to getting the shot and risks to not getting it. The risks may not be equal, but they exist in both cases.
  15. Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids is open to anyone 16 or older - https://mychartopensched.spectrumhealth.org/MyChart/covid19/#/scheduling
  16. Finally got some rain. Had 1.25" overnight.
  17. Sort of, using the Department of Health and Human Services to issue the orders now.
  18. Wish I knew what it was that is "off". Our governor is going to tighten the screws again is my guess.
  19. Same here. Dry air ate up virtually all of the precip.
  20. I was just commenting to my wife this morning on how dry it was and there isn't much precip in the forecast either.
  21. Time for @buckeye to post something like this
  22. Local authorities and private businesses can do whatever they want. This was just lifting the state mandate. If Best Buy says you have to wear a mask they still have that right.
  23. C-/D+ here. Nowhere near normal snow with November, December, and January having almost no snow. February rescued this winter from being an F.
  24. I wonder when the last time this happened, if ever - Lansing with more snow than Muskegon.
