  1. Never, even a little snow is way better than futility.
  2. Talk about futility - the snowfall deficits are going to be very hard to overcome on this side of the state.
  3. Let's hope you are correct. Earlier the models were saying more of a N/NNW wind which would give me nothing while 10 miles west gets hit. They are thankfully showing a little more westerly component now which is good for me.
  4. The theme of the winter. Everything skips right over my county. I realize this is light precip and maybe not even reaching the ground but snow north and south is the story of the season here.
  5. You can't even make this stuff up anymore. 12Z NAM (I don't really think it will play out like this, but it is too funny to pass up.) Guess where I live???
  6. I am right there with you. GRR is going to be at a 20"+ snowfall deficit for the year after this week. They have only recorded 0.4" for the year with is 0.3"+ more than I have. Still waiting for your first measurable snow in an area that average close to 80" a year is pretty bad.
  7. Donut hole - look at a season to date map of Michigan and pick out the donut hole. I really don't think you have anything to complain about. https://mrcc.illinois.edu/cliwatch/GIS_plots/nohrsc/nohrsc_mrcc_seas.png
  8. 1", 10", 20", I don't care. I just want some flakes to fall IMBY. The snowfall deficits are getting pretty ugly around here. Might be worse in the UP in absolute numbers, but they have at least had snow this year. At least there is a sign that things might get a little more active. At this point I will take my chances with any precip falling from the sky. Eventually the blind squirrel will find a nut, especially in this part of the country.
  9. Yeah, IMBY I had 2.08” of rain and maybe 12 flakes at the end but still waiting for first measurable snow of the season.
  10. Certainly not the apocalypse many feared in the Midwest over the Thanksgiving time period.
  11. Congrats. You just got more than I have seen this fall/winter.
  12. Been there twice in the last three years. I agree 100% with you except the best poutine I had was in Ottawa. Not bad in Quebec City though. The old town is really nice. Definitely recommend going there if you have the chance.
  13. I’d settle for cold temps and a west wind right now.
  14. Call me what you want. My company has hired 245 people in the last month alone.
  15. Has it? I am not an economist, but I haven't seen that locally. Maybe you have?
  16. I am wondering if I can make it the entire month of December and still have no measurable snow for the season. GFS is saying I have a chance at it.
  17. And there were 11 at Thanksgiving where we went and we are all healthy. There are more of those stories than what you are sharing for sure.
  18. GFS is a little faster and slightly SE of 12Z. Still a little warm here but baby steps. Now if it can continue a little more SE.
  19. I agree, but that article was only about one piece of the puzzle. There are many more factors like you said and in places like Japan, there were more suicides in October than COVID deaths all year combined. I know they have a high suicide rate to begin with but that is a crazy statistic.
  20. https://news.gallup.com/poll/327311/americans-mental-health-ratings-sink-new-low.aspx?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=855206&refcd=855206&utm_source=RevelantResources&seid= No one really wants to talk about it, but how many lives can we lose as "collateral damage" and no even bother to question it? These mental health statistics are just the tip of the iceberg. Is the cure worse than the disease? I don't know.
  21. My snow drought might continue. Ridiculous cutoff across my county.
