Said this the other day but this reminds me of the Friday storm in our January week of winter. Similar setup with a northern stream low (hopefully) passing to our south. That also looked like a dusting-2” at this range. We’ve had positive short term trends in all 4 accumulating snow events we’ve had this winter (4 in our backyards). Maybe we can make it 5.
But how can this one trend better, though? It seems like more of a quick hitter...and it's not like we need it to trend souther...so where would the extra juice come from?

We'll get a good storm again. We can sometimes score real well the year after an El Nino.
Not if it's a Nina...I mean, we got lucky one time with Commutagedon...but outside of that? Wouldn't want to bet on that.

right...that's what this is going to blow up into...I'm manifesting it
Man I've been hoping, lol I mean hey, ya can't rule out something flukey with the waves...Would be nice, because seeing all that moisture shunted south is hurting my feelings!

Ah, I figured it was one of those dang names! Hey at least they can still score in a nina like that...so maybe they can look ahead, lol But that still sucks for them though...ya gotta wonder if like the whole northeast snow climo by affected by the elephant too...but that's another convo.

Too late. I should have read this warning before going in there.
The evil part in me was tempted to troll them, but… no. Didn’t have it in me.
I hope they dream of Nemo tonight, they’re going to need it.
Nemo? Lol

Well, this is depressing. Guess our HECS chances this year are just about cancelled.
I'll echo stormtracker say that I'd hold off on saying that until Monday (or even this weekend...still don't know how that's gonna shake out yet)

Chuck...real question: Why do you use these maps instead of going on TT, WB, or something more uh...modern?

If the cities can get a few inches yea of course.
Ah shoot I was hoping n&w getting a few inches would be enough to pass...you're just a tough grader

So @psuhoffman would this be enough to take this wave out of the logbook?

In non-snowy news (I'm trying to figure out who the other music needs are here besides @Scarlet Pimpernel, @09-10 analogy, @stormtracker and myself, lol)
Today is the 100th anniversary of the premiere of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue ! On February 12, 1924, the world first heard that rising clarinet jazz wail that began the meeting of the classical world with the jazz and blues of the American sound. Now the interesting thing is...the original was only 9 minutes long (apprently it was embellished later) and, according to an article I read, this was a program that Gershwin had initially declined to participate in, lol They put his name on the program anyway, and he was convinced later. And the rest was history
Here is the original version heard that day, with Gershwin himself playing:

I respect people who tell us what they’re seeing with the LR stuff good or bad. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out. Better than people who say nothing and then say “I told you so”. Hard to tell you so if one has said nothing or just been negative OR positive with no or little backing. Not you personally as I have no idea what you’ve forecasted haha.
Yeah you have people in the Panic Room just completely trashing this thread. Like I get being frustrated, but don't sit here and act like you don't have the better minds in here doing great analysis. In weather all you can talk about is what you see modeled...and then you go from there. Sometimes it will work out, sometimes it won't...but don't say it's useless just out of frustration.

His physical skill set is better than Brady in every way. The intangibles are similar.
I don't disagree

True. Mahomes is better than Brady though.
I mean I'd put them on the same plain right now...although obviously Mahomes' mobility adds something Brady never had.

Did anyone really think Purdy was going to beat Mahomes?
It would have taken a perfect game.
In championships, upsets can always happen. Eli Manning shouldn't have beaten Brady twice...but he did! Other times it ends like tonight, lol

Dang...the Chiefs D-line is playing out of their minds in the Red Zone, smh

Money kick.
But, Mahomes has plenty of time.
Man if the 49ers don't hang on here...they were a frickin' 1st down away, smh
Mid/Late February will be rocking. (This year we mean it!) February long range discussion.

Bob said he thought it was a warning sign when the ao went way up to positive after December but kept it quiet...Man I kinda wish he had said something! I know he didn't want to send folks cliff-diving, and I get that...but at the same time, better to do that early to have more reasonable expectations.
