The Cowboys are a national embarrassment. They do less with more than any franchise in football. The Ravens will be fine.

Hey I'm not debbing anything in the LR thread. I'm trying to make changes there. And are you even a Ravens fan? (I forget now since you moved)

  2. Dang...have the Ravens become...a national embarrassment? Smh The way people are talking about us it sure does feel like it. Man I don't play but I identify with the team and I feel that mess, smh Where's my brown paper bag?

Do we really need two threads to track February? Get organized people. Can’t imagine how chaotic some of your desktops look.

Not supposed to be two...the other was unpinned like 2-3 days ago, lol Not sure why folks are still in there!

Let's just let things unfold as they will, however it happens.  We see the remarkable agreement across all ensembles and it has been now showing up in some ops runs more and more in the ops extended ranges.  And the extended ensembles/weeklies have been pretty emphatic through the first part of March thus far.  Don't worry or get caught up in specific dates or apparent times that "nothing much happened" or "PD is our time!"  I mentioned this before, but remember in 2016 there was talk about how we have a relative lack of snow events the 3rd week or so of January...whether due to chance or some actual meteorological reason (traditional Jan. thaw, that sort of thing)?  Then something happened Jan. 22-23, 2016...trying to put my finger on it, I recall getting some decent snow then...LOL!!!

Oh yeah I'm not downing the potential here. Just...a little calendar superstitious that's all (of that particular week) I look down the top 25, all the MECS & HECS either came between Jan 20th and Feb 20th ...or early/mid March for some strange reason (with the exception of a legendary Palm Sunday...hey I have an Aunt old enough to remember that...gotta ask her about that )

I think there are going to be multiple good threats but looking at the way the pattern is progressing I think our best chance at a MECS+ storm might be centered within a couple days either side of Feb 24th.

So think our usual PD weekend MECS+ threshold would be too soon? (It's not scientific, but the fact it's never happened the last week of Feb is not something I wanna bet on, lol)

I've got a Dr. appt. on Feb. 28 that I've had to wait over a month for- that'll be our one-and-only HECS date, trust me.

Historically...you should be fine, lol (No HECS has ever come on that week)

At least we won't lose Monken after the AFC championship fiasco.

Firing him would be a bad idea. You don't do that after 1 year just because of this...especially not when literally everything else on offense got better this year. He had a bad game at a bad time...ya don't give him the boot just for that.

Well MacDonald is the new HC for the Seahawks. Good for them.

We stuck with stale Harbaugh who rarely seems to be prepared when it counts the most.

Stale isn't the right word...he still resonates with the players. Chemistry and leadership is not the problem with him at all. It's one thing: abandoning the run for no reason. Like literally that's  the biggest thing, and a few on-field decisions. It's a weird problem...how you be so good yet so bad in that is beyond me.

Now here's the logistical prproblem with them firing him this off-season to promote MM: That decision would've had to be made in two days. That would have to be a decision made at the beginning of the year or earlier in the season, imo Harbs was not on the hot seat this year...so how could they have made that decision on a whim?

Report that Angelos has agreed to sell the O’s

Came here to say the same thing, lol Man I hope this is true...this would be the absolute perfect week from this news to drop!!!

  10. This has been bad for my mental health...I haven't been able to focus on much of anything other than the loss. So embarrassing, national media ripping us to shreds, and the future of the team, quite frankly, looks bleak, and I'm wondering if Lamar is really the QB that can get us there. He and Monken let us all the way down! I don't trust either of them right now.

And, with all the assistant coaching turnover, it may not even be possible to fire Harbaugh this off-season. So who knows what kind of season we may have to go through next year. Tbh, unless MacDonald stays, it's too late in he game to look for a new HC in 2024). This may be the darkest moment this franchise has ever had... and it's frickin' depressing

    I mean, where's the lie?

In NFL history...has a coach ever been fired after going 14-3 and losing the AFC Championship game? (Real question--I don't think I've ever heard of that being done) Therein lies the conundrum. I don't think any team justifiably does that...regardless of what has happened before. It's still winning football...coach hasn't lost the locker room (although maybe we'll see this off season, lol) just hasn't gotten to the SB.

I feel like...we'd have to completely miss the playoffs in order for something to change. I mean in a weird way, if you root for Harbs to be fired, you'd basically have to root against the team next year and root for us to miss the playoffs, lol So like...y'all gonna root for us to tank? Lol

If, if, IF. Just once I'd like you to use positive language when there's no other reason to be negative about something. Humor me just this once for the Feb 10th-20th period. What do ya have to lose?

Religion is a personal thing. To each their own. Don't assume everyone wants to engage. What I meant by presumptuous.

It is. And I kinda get the "Don't hit people over the head with it". I could see if it was like...being really judgemental or something. But what I'm not getting is the thinking that expressing beliefs is always based on an assumption somebody wants to engage. Sometimes you're just talking freely from what you feel, not to necessarily "engage". Just comes out sometimes (like you said, it is a personal thing)...and some just feel more free with it than others :)

Agree he is a bit of phony and very corny, and too heavy handed with the religious stuff. Not everyone is a Christian. Very presumptuous.

TL;DR: Expressing faith is not presumption, it's being yourself...and when you talk about what YOU believe, that does not equate to telling others what to believe.

Here's what folks don't get about this: When you're a Christian, it is so much a part of what you do that you naturally talk about it...especially in a field of leadership where there are going to be other people that share that faith (and where workplace rules don't prohibit it) You can't just turn it off...faith doesn't work that way. After all it's what YOU believe, and it shapes how you view things, and how you lead. So when you're asked about your leadership, if that's part of it...it comes out. And you can believe when he coaches, the players bring up the same stuff.

I mean players talk about their faith too! Lamar just did that the other day...and you KNOW how much Ray Lewis did (and still does!) It's just a part of who you are. Should a player not say it simply because some people don't believe it? Is it wrong for teams to have chaplains?

I promise you there are men of faith on every team. but some do (in the Ravens case there are many that do). But nobody is making anybody believe anything! So...it's probably not turning off the players that don't believe, and not taking away from the game...so, what's the problem?

Would love nothing more than to see Harbaugh out and Mike McDonald the new HC. Keep Monken but get his mind right. That won't happen though, and McDonald will probably end up in Washington.

Well here's what's interesting...Mike Mac told a superfan last night the opposite, lol:

Now of course...he could've "technically" meant he's not going anywhere in terms of being a coach in the NFL. But let's hope he means the Ravens :)

IDC. This was the AFC championship game. To get to THE game. The fucking goal. They completely deviated from their MO. Their bread and butter. Literally played right into the Chief's hands defensively. Buffalo ran all over them last week. They are 27th against the run. Ravens are the Kings of running the ball. And if you want to go pass happy, run slants and other higher percentage pass plays, not slow developing down the field plays against a good pass rush. Low percentage stuff. It was if they were trying to lose..

Oh yes--it was an awful, awful gameplan. Probably one of the worst in AFC championship history. I mean it was frickin' dumb! (And I'll bet if you ask him he'll say the same thing)

All I question is if it warrants a firing. Easy to say yes right now...but looking at the big picture...you gotta consider whether it would make things better or worse next year.

  17. 10 hours ago, CAPE said:

He isn't getting fired. Nor is Harbaugh. Doesn't matter what I think.

Take this from another angle...Looking at the whole season...was Monken a bad hire? I mean...dude had a great track record (unlike Roman). How do you see an inexplicable meltdown in one game ahead of time?

Yeah, I still think we have a shot at beating climo and all it takes is one storm.

NYC & north are SOL at this point, though.

We could probably trip into "beating" climo (climo being a median of 15 inches here) with a couple advisory events. But as far as beating the average? If this isn't a KU pattern, how are we gonna do that in one storm?

Now I need clarity on the hecs, mecs and becs terminology...how many inches are associated with each category? Lol

As a neutral observer (bengals fan) who has recent experience watching his beloved team playing the Chiefs in big games (Burrow is 3-1 against Mahomes and 1-1 in the AFC championship) I cannot underscore enough that point.  I thought the offensive gameplan from Monken/Harbaugh was perplexing (at best). Clearly KC had a plan to contain Lamar in the pocket - their rush lane discipline was excellent and the strength of KC's D is their defensive backfield (and Chris Jones at d-tackle - but he's more effective rushing the QB). So...run the ball? With the best rushing offense in the NFL? I mean...that, right? Instead, the run almost entirely abandoned. I was absolutely confused. Still am.

They embarrassed themselves in front of the entire city and nation. This is the first time I've ever been embarrassed to be a Ravens fan. I mean we are in the worst position right now, and I have zero confidence in them at the moment...and even if they play well next season, I still won't believe until they do it. Won't allow myself to.

My main winter hoodie and hat is Ravens, so I gotta wear that shame the rest of the winter, smh (too cheap to buy a new one so that part is my fault). Did everything right this year but this and they all should be ashamed for what they did to the rest of us. Dang it man I am frickin' ticked and it's about to ruin my entire week if I let it.
