  1. Totally agree. The two largest nations mentioned know exactly what’s in their best interest, long term, economically. With the two smaller ones there is a tendency for the desperation butter to slide off the noodles. We shall see. As always ....
  2. With all due respect, so have you, S19. And yes, we all know how that’s worked out. Enough salt was spread early in the season to keep our wounds fresh in our memory, even now. The joy and anticipation of a possible snow event regardless of the improbability is a a testament to those, like Anthony, who will stand against the odds and dare to hope. My belated sympathies for the loss of your feline friend. I lost my little buddy just days after your loss. I put the little fellow to rest in a quiet corner of my back yard. I wouldn’t mind seeing, even though the probabilities are small, that ground covered briefly in white before the season ends completely. As always ......
  3. Marx was a good alternative and indeed, sets from our youth are valuable to collectors. The desire for a set of electric trains by our generation has been replaced by a desire for much different devices today. I remember my first daisy air rifle. In today’s reality that would probably be a Social Services issue. As always.
  4. It sounds great, please post pictures when it’s complete. I have a closet full of Lionel 1940’s through the mid 60’s trains 0 and 0/27. From early freight to 50,’s Santa Fe diesel passenger to 60’s Cold War inspired pieces. I believe I have an old metal ho freight set and 60+ year old action pieces like the milk and Cattle cars. Ive been meaning to catalogue and display my collection. If I procrastinate any longer my legatees may do it for me. As always .....
  5. Unc, I remember watching the cute snow man measure disappear completely in the back yard. I don’t believe it was drift related and the head of the snowman was above the last measure when was 24 inches. then again, what do I know I’m not a CPK zoo keeper. As always....
  6. If anyone’s desperate, Amazon has a selection of bidets available. As always ........

  9. Just our luck, 007; in NYC the Mayor bombs out in his bid for greater mediocrity and comes back to do his elected job and by gosh, his greatest accomplishment is to keep the Public School system open against the advice of his own City Council President and others. Even with an understanding of his, keep the schools open position, I still keep thinking of all the good intentions that famous road is paved with. As always ...
  10. Must have been an outer borough measurement. As always ....
  11. When I watched my first TV in the early 50’s snow, depending on antennae/location, could be found on all the available channels. As always ....
  12. Thank you CL014. When I feel the personal shadows growing deeper and longer a view of what is natural and beautiful brings me back into the light. As always .....
  13. They become our companions and forever loyal guardians, as we are theirs. I only wish more of us could absorb and demonstrate their capacity for unselfish love. “All dogs go to heaven” if indeed it exists, they are certainly there. As always ....
  14. Anthony, if male menopause exists then that fellow is definitely and understandably in the hot flash stage. As always.....
  15. Damn, I’ve reached the point on the circle where the lime wedge in the bottle sparks more interest than the holder. As always ....
  16. 1831 Blizzard: Philadelphia 24 inches, NYC 18-20 inches, Boston 24 inches. Even in the early 19th century NYC appears to be under measured. I guess now it’s a tradition. As always .....
  17. Buns optional? As always.....
  18. Probably as many times as Forky re-examines/re-imagines his avatar. As always ......
  19. Well it does have Friday the 13th going for it or is that against it, ah well .... As always .....
  20. I find more concerning, the thought how far west the sea breeze might reach in the decades to come. As always .....
  21. Anthony, bless you, your resolve is unbreakable. I’ll try to keep that in mind as I avoid litigation by shoveling heavy slush off my row house steps. That and the third degree sunburn I’ll get on my hairless pate because I can’t find my sunscreen the first week of March. Other than that, my compliments and admiration go to you. As always ....
  22. Anthony, be aware, if you take Justin and Gravity’s excellent suggestion and if while/because your up there the NY Metro gets a significant snow, Feen will probably start a “ go fund me” page. As always ......
