  1. I still can’t figure out how to post a photo even in these easy days. IR17 can you imagine how some of the present generation of posters would have faired on the forums back then. As always .....
  2. As I remember, very little censorship. I still remember a young DT getting upset because someone accused him of saying something negative about the then super met Joe Bastardi. Today he might consider the accusation a compliment. Wild place back then, like the old west, before the forum self destructed. As always ....
  3. When considering the term; how to be rational when all around are just the opposite. If Tip gets in on this, heaven bless his between the ears strength, it may be quite a multi page discussion. As always ....
  4. Rough time of year, when even the ninth symphony loses patience. As always ......
  5. How could I not. I watched Gene Autry sing Rudolph on B&W tv. This song of lost, found and lost love squeezes you at its end. As I said in a post a few minutes past midnight on the morning of the 25th last year, Happy Christmas and New Year to all and remember; it is better to be wrapped in red, green, silver and gold then your own tears. ..... and the snow just changed to rain, as always......
  6. Unc. You may not be old enough, but Do you remember Joe Bolton of later “Officer” Three Stooges Fame, as a Weatherman on b & w tv in the early fifties? He used a grease pen on a, I guess, glass screen overlaying an outline map to make temperature and other notations. For some reason the memory stuck with me. As always. ...
  7. I was a freshman in Brooklyn Tech. School cancelled and Mayor Wagner banning cars from the city during the cleanup. As for CPK the measurement teams traditions remain. As always .......

  10. As you should be. It’s better to be A Big Weenie than a small one. At my age and location on the circle I’d settle for having any. As always ....
  11. S19 sorta reminds me of one of his namesakes. “Knew the sun was hot that day so he said let’s run and we’ll have some fun before I melt away”. Then a disembodied voice says “cue the Moderators” and the rest Is yearly forum seasonal history. As always ...
  12. Compared to us in the five borough metro the do, in the northern environs come close. As always ....
  13. Same here, except when my father got the phone bill he, in the tradition of the forums very capable moderators, no posted and banished me. Phone booth as my only option I had to walk to 13th Avenue or Fort Hamilton Pkwy to get in range of the nearest one. He was right, of course, but I wouldn’t admit that until now. You know, youth, age, waste and wisdom. As always.....
  14. The way thing are going lately GL I wonder if that’s the time or the date. As a always .....
  15. Born in BK NY, bred, in BK NY and eventually ... we’ll you know. My first weather radio was a gift. A small barrel shaped brown plastic shape with a pull up antennae. I believe the voice was artificial. It sure sounded that way. 162.55 megahertz I’ll never forget that. Many years late4 I believe the voice was changed. To me the new one sounded stranger than the old one.. As always. ....
  16. My children are over a decade older than your tools. As always .......
  17. Bet it’s #1 on S 19’s holiday wish list. As always ....
  18. Mid size flakes still falling vertically and at a good clip on the Hook/Hill. The concrete still refuses to relinquish wet for white. The street, of course, should remain wet for a good while, thanks to the heavy salt fall from the city. Be safe all, as always ....
  19. Good size flakes falling vertically on the Hook/Hill. My postage stamp is starting to whiten. Regards to Yin/Yang. As always ....
  20. 40’s, 50’s and early 60’s I lived off of 11th Avenue on 75th street, Bay Ridge Parkway. We still had power lines on the big wood telephone poles, one was in front of my house with the street light. I remember when those first street lights were installed. I had to angle my view with a tree branch to cut the glare. I remember sneaking a call to We6-1212 to get the latest temperature. Memories swirling in a shaken snow globe. As always ...
  21. Is Pam ........ is Ray Jay ........ is the curse ........ ? I definitely intend to spike the eggnog before Irish Rob passes the peace pipe back my way. As always ......
  22. Anthony, I know the strong desire many of us have is to charge in with shovels blazing. The Blue man is an oasis of calm clear informational logic with an occasional stab of emotion. Negative or positive is really not part of BW’s delivery/contributions. As always .....
  23. The yang always running from the yin will be here today and gone tomorrow. As always ....
  24. The Sycamores in the Hook/Hill are getting rid of their excess dead wood. As always. .....
