  1. CPC/NCEP is currently forecasting ENSO neutral conditions through summer, and favors it to persist through Fall. Fwiw.
  2. RIP Little Richard. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/little-richard-dead-48505/
  3. I wanna live in a place where the only months it really can't snow are June-August, and 90 degrees is rare. Already love Canaan and the Davis-Thomas area. I can actually retire from my teaching job this year, with a nice pension. Just need some part time work.
  4. Forecast high for here next Friday is 78. Getting there.
  5. I'm guessing the Carroll county folks were tracking it for some splatty wet flakes on the tail end, which is usually all that ever happens with these set ups in the heart of winter lol. When I lived up there, the only notable May "winterish" event I recall was a graupel shower with an unseasonably strong cold front.
  6. It was a wave running along a cold front and it tracked right over us. The coastal popped and strengthened too far NE. In that scenario there is no banding in this area, and the cold comes in behind the frontal precip every time. Sure if some earlier runs of the GFS were correct and the front/wave and coastal low were further SE, it may have been different. But you knew that wasn't going to happen. Not in May.
  7. Another 'wind' day. Second only to heat around here. 50 degrees and May sun would feel really nice without the 35 mph gusts.
  8. Nah. Its cold chasing rain, as usual.
  9. He will improve with some practice.
  10. Probably how it will go. I was not overly impressed with his play tbh, and think there are younger guys who could step up and do the job for less money. But it wont matter if they have to take a hit to get rid of him.
  11. Not much of a whiskey/bourbon person, but this Jefferson's small batch is smooth and pleasantly sweet. Pretty good stuff. On par with Knob Creek and Woodford Reserve. All subjective ofc. Knob Creek small batch is normally my go to for bourbon.
  12. I am not much on crust, so thats how I would cut it lol. My mom makes an awesome punkin' pie with rum and crushed pecans for a crust.
  13. ET one and done with the Ravens? Maybe.
  14. I had a Goose Island IPA, now a glass(or 2) of red wine. I think I will end up with a Jefferson's small batch on the rocks at some point.
  15. Wind picked up suddenly with this shower rolling through. Temp dropping quickly- from 65 to now 58.
  16. Our climo ensures it lol.
  17. They really are bomb. I was shocked the first time I tried them. A tad pricey, but worth it if you don't want to make them yourself.
  18. Hard to beat these. Even my mom, who is a great cook, uses them when she doesn't have the time. Y'all can go ahead and drag me now.
  19. Looks like there are still some pretty significant differences among the guidance on rainfall amounts/specific location for the region. Generally looks like the heaviest will be in the northern third, but some Mesos have another max on the coastal plain.
  20. Model snowfall maps are always wrong. Still looks like a coating to a couple inches for the western highlands. I mean, it is May.
  21. @mappy Finally watched the Westworld finale. Overall I was not overly impressed by the last 2 episodes. However, the after the credits scenes in the finale were pretty epic. I hope the game gets upped a bit for next season. I was totally into this season early on- and how different it was- but then I kinda got a bit bored with the 'story line' as the season went on.
  22. I have been there a couple times recently. You can walk in but they have the counter right at the entrance, and they go and get whatever you want. Ofc you have to know what you want lol. Town and Country is doing basically the same thing. Not sure about ordering ahead but I would assume so.
  23. It is pretty easy to simply not engage those who you think may be "derailing" the thread. Another option is ignore. I was a big proponent of having the COVID thread- I pushed for it and Mappy agreed to start it. I only engaged occasionally, but that's because I was able to keep informed to the level I required without discussing it all day long, and frankly I have other things to occupy my time. I understand that to some it is an interesting topic worthy of investing significant time to discussion, however. Having a dedicated thread also kept it from dominating banter.
