    Might be, but if you are looking at the mean be careful taking surface temps too literally. A range of possibilities for around the 27th on the current GEFS, including not much of anything and cold with precip suppressed south. eta- 6 hour panel; there are a few with snow preceding this timeframe.

    Roman was in 'passing mode' lol. What a simpleton.

    The period beyond the 25th still looks pretty favorable with colder air in place and SE ridge suppressed, and indications of multiple waves moving along the boundary. The 23rd is still worth watching mainly for those further north. Nice h5 look on the EPS here. It has a more prominent -NAO and a somewhat colder look than the the GEFS.

    Dobbins AGAIN underutilized. 13 carries. Give him the ball instead of the sneak and they score. Mind boggling how awful Roman is, and that they have stuck with him. Done with Harbaugh too. The clock management debacle is on him. Go get Payton.

    CFS develops a pretty legit looking -NAO moving into Feb with the TPV stretched underneath, keeping heights low off the Canadian Maritimes. Pops a bit of a PNA ridge too. Cold at the surface. With all the gloom and doom about February, we can dream a little lol.

    I keep an eye on this. Snow has been constantly otg since early December but less than is typical for mid Jan there it seems. Definitely been some mild/wet periods.

    Warm atlantic is always a poor excuse of non snow...if the track is good and we have strong hp...it will snow With those warm anomalies right off the coast, I'll root for a legit cold blast in this progressive flow regime. Heck of a thermal boundary might enhance coastal low development just offshore. You might not like it though.

    You would think that would just jack up the snow totals for NW Japan, assuming the typical level of Siberian cold is draining across the Sea of Japan.

    You never know, but you have to think they will be looking for a new OC. And ffs get a legit number one WR. The narrative is that the offense has struggled since Lamar got hurt, but a closer look reveals it was more related to the loss of Bateman.

    Not sure I would describe it that way. If you consider all the members of the GEFS, GEPS, and EPS as a group, there are some hits(frozen) for that period. More generally the latest ens runs suggest the best chance of frozen in our region is from around the 27th onward.

    I'm gonna go ahead and name this the ji storm You said the 28th right? Gonna be close.

    As currently advertised, this window may be our best shot. A low tracks to our NW and combines with a spoke of vorticity rotating southward off the TPV, and then heads towards Atlantic Canada. That looks to finally push the boundary far enough south for the following wave to produce some frozen precip.
