  1. Past hour
  2. I've been thinking for some time now that things will revert back to dry in a hurry. But it just keeps raining and it sure seems like we're not done yet this week...
  3. The South Shore of LI only got around .5 or less same as the CT shore by me. Everything greatly weakened once east of NJ which got 6”+. NYC was the transition zone.
  4. it will be interesting if the high can get strong enough again later in the summer to overpower the ocean and create another westerly flow pattern.
  5. Record high minimum of 74F tied at Dulles Airport yesterday. A record high minimum of 69F was tied at Elkins, W. Va. for the second consecutive day. The urban heat contaminated records at DCA and BWI barely register the warmth.
  6. Only a 3 day period back in June with enough westerly flow before the dominant onshore flow pattern since.
  7. I live here and trust me we got a lot, I woke up to flooding it was still raining hard around 8 am. I just thought it was silly that people thought that the rain would weaken a lot when the SST are up around 75 degrees now, we got between 1 - 2 inches here.
  8. to be honest this is the first widespread 100 degree heat we have gotten since 2013, all the years in between were nowhere near this extreme.
  9. Quick update here. With some additional observations from yesterday now available, it looks like DC-Dulles Airport also tied a record high minimum yesterday.
  10. I'm still paying for my 9" I had during the tropical event last year Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  11. The South Shore hardly got anything compared to the areas just inland from the coast.
  12. It's like we can't get a nice moderate rain anymore, it's either a drought or a deluge lol. Mother Nature has become our enemy now, it's probably better to have a drought and do our own watering rather than a lethal and costly flood.
  13. My 2022 adventure with anaplasmosis came when a tick crawled into my crotch while I was on our woodlot unsuccessfully waiting for a deer to come by. A week later I picked off the fully engorged little monster but was already feeling awful. Tuesday before T-Day my vision went screwy - could not read the words on the desktop screen - then I staggered into the living room, nearly falling. Wife called 911 for my 2nd ambulance ride (1st was 2018 with A-fib), EMT couldn't puncture my dehydrated skin at first. Got to ER, wife spotted a fresh tick on my back, tests followed and then the doxy had me feeling much better within 24 hours of the first pill. I've had to pull off well-attached ticks many times (resulting in several weeks of itch but no diseases) but only that one got any of my blood.
  14. I'm confused what would cause the weakening though because the oceans are extremely warm now, in the mid 70s.
  15. holy shnikeys.... now watch, it'll take you the rest of the year to get to normalish climbo..... mo nature has ears and listens to us as big totals are boasted.
  16. It was still raining here until about 9 am this morning so hopefully there will be a newer update Don.
  17. That look allows for some weak troughing at times. Not a cold look really, just not endless 70's dews
  18. It did weaken as it moved east, LI/CT got 1/3 to 1/4 of what areas further west got....it was just so massive that even the weakened version gave us all .75-1.25
  19. 27.88" of rain over the past 2.5 months (May, June and 1st half of July) in 2025. 6.17" of rain fell in all of May, June and July in 2024.
  20. 0.15” here this morning brings mtd to 6.44”
  21. Reminds me I have to retreat. I only had Lyme once but caught it early. We have the property in Maine professionally treated since it's mostly woods. I treat my Mass property myself.
  22. I dont understand why people thought the cooler ocean would weaken it, it rained for over 12 hours here and we had well over an inch on the south shore. The oceans are much warmer now, the ocean won't be weakening anything anymore, if anything it adds more moisture to make the rain heavier.
