Wind really starting to rip here now. BDR just had a gust to 53 and HVN 47.

At least MPO was able to drop below 40° this September. While still the 4th warmest monthly minimum for September, it was a little cooler than the last few years. JFK finished 2nd warmest on their minimum for September so far. Plenty of onshore flow this month keeping the mimimums up. Unremarkable winds down here so far. Max gust overnight 35 mph looks like it was 40 on the water. The storm has a bit more convection around the center today. I'm guessing peak winds for me this evening. Its biggest impacts will be ruining an entire weekend.

Global satellite sea surface temperatures including September. This years nino spike is similar in magnitude to 2023. This September is 0.15C warmer than Sept 2023 and 0.14C warmer than the peak in Jan 2024.

And I know I’ve been skeptical of this being tropical but the current radar does look more like a hybrid.

Also I really don’t see much of a break. The low is stationary and the bands will continue to rotate in. It won’t be steady but it will be frequent.
