It’s all -WPO driven cold….with no mechanism downstream (Atlantic) and over the top (Arctic) to stop cutters and runners, that’s why you need -NAO/-AO blocking…to force secondary, coastal redevelopment. Damn Warm people creating new Spring threads too early! It's Winter damnit! We are not METS so continue winter! I'm glad it's in the 40s/drizzle and overcast and hope it continues! Hell, we only receive a solid 2-3 month of possible cold/cloudy/snowy winter weather per year so why are these idiots want to rush into Spring? June, July and August I understand but early March? F-that! Hope this spring is cold. miserable and damp!

I do hope for some warm days next week. I could use some sitting back simlin' weather before we go for one last hurrah and get a mass exodus out of New England going.

posted a chart an hour ago to show this but the synopsis of having that newly arriving polar high through QUE, dammed in, having also arrived over this impressive cryosphere.. the low levels should at least "look" colder than the warmer solutions are giving us. It's interesting that the NAM is as warm as it is; you'd think it's resolution in the lower 300 mb would be colder. I wonder if the NAM being a weaker QPF is limiting systemic cooling or something.

I remember I sarcastically said to Will late last week "of course next week won't trend south like the Blizzard"....but that is exactly what happened....yesterday verified south, too...so it's been consistent.
