  1. Past hour
  2. I’m sure you miss it but hope you have had opportunities to visit during the winter. I am in Atlantic Canada now yes, but I grew up in the Baltimore area and lived there my whole life until last year. Some parts of Atlantic Canada can get extreme snowfalls yes, but with Halifax being right on the Ocean the average snowfall in recent years has been 3-4 feet. Certainly nothing to complain about and it feels more like the winters I had as a kid growing up in the 90s in Baltimore, which I dearly missed with the lower totals we’ve seen in the last 10-15 years.
  3. The bands SE of LI are gonna come through soon. Holy cow they are juicy! I'm staying up for that.
  4. Measured 9.7" average just now in Lindenhurst, not sure if it might be over or under measured. Winds gusting probably around 45 mph, legit white out conditions
  5. I'm pretty impressed so far.....foggy appearence, great band incoming...
  6. Lost two dogwood trees here already, with 9.8 inches so far. These were the type of trees I didn't want to lose.
  7. Seems a closer to home expedition into the legendary sewers of NYC could result in sightings, or worse, of similar sorts of exotic creatures.
  8. That's nice of you. I am MUCH older now. I don't walk so well but yes, I lived in Dale City for 55 years. I love the DMV and Washington DC and I want those guys to get demolished by a 50,000 year blizzard with five to six feet of pure powder! Wow Abby you are from the Atlantic Canada region i think, where they can get 50 FEET of snow in a single season somewhere. Now THAT, is a LOT of snow! No way I could ever dig that lol! Yeah everyone likes walking in the snow, some with their sweet puppy dogs. I guess they started calling their snow walks 'Jebwalks' because I was always talking about taking another jebwalk in the blowing snow, all excited because of the huge aggregates blowing past the streetlights in a 35 mph Northeasterly refreshing breeze!
  9. Watching this pan out in real time 12 hours later
  10. Are more bands going to start forming soon near NYC and start moving past NNJ ?
  11. Do you people understand I have Less than 3”!?!? 2.75”! 6.5 Hours Into the Storm. The Radar has been Tremendous for 5 Hours. And NO WIND. No Wind. (Which I prefer since I don’t at All get you people’s fetish with wind. It’s Destructive. Nothing good about it). But you guys have 6-10! NYC where I Left without you guys even knowing had Thunder and Lightning! Every other Model And the NWS had 24”-30” for 6 Runs leading into this. AFTER ALL I’VE DEALT WITH the past 11 seasons, NOW this? A potential Biggest Bust Ever? And If I don’t get at Least 18.75”, that means I MISSED the Bigger of the 2 this year when this one looked GUARANTEED to be better than the SWFE, then I’m gonna Lose it. I’m telling you right now.
  12. This is going to be impossible to measure.. snow whipping around like crazy right now
  13. 9" and some of the heaviest snow i have ever seen
  14. Thunder snow near block island with that band moving towards CT
  15. The Moore Township, Northampton County report on the Public Information Statement is mine and we've only had negligible accumulation in over two plus hours since that report. Isn't snowing at all now. Amazing how much different it is 50 miles from me!
  16. Unreal outside right now. Winds are howling. Snow is completely different from a few hours ago. We’ve got drifts of 2 feet here.
  17. This is why we track, just unfreaking real. All-time winter conditions right now. Not sure the wind meet the blizzard criteria but visibility is there. Closest to blizzard conditions that I can remember.
  18. We’ve never interacted but I’ve been lurking these forums for 10+ years now and just wanted to say how much I love your enthusiasm and how much joy you bring to every obs thread I read. Even though you moved away it’s really nice to see you still cheering everybody on here. I had always seen references to your jebwalks and pieced together what they meant from context, but it’s cool to learn the genesis of them. I just recently moved away from the mid Atlantic (although luckily to a more snowy area) but still find myself lurking here because I miss the vibes and there is no CanadianWX equivalent. So it’s nice to still read these threads and see your posts. Very comforting in a way and a reminder of home!
