  1. Past hour
  2. Pretty impressive lightning from that storm over Auburn / Worcester. I'm just north of the main rain shield and it's rumbling the house pretty sufficiently.
  3. Got exactly 1" of rain out of today's storm.
  4. Yeah it's crazy - I work out of Charlottesville - almost every day it's driving around at some point in some area in a tropical downpour... It's not like it's the entire valley - north toward Harrisonburg, west toward Staunton and south toward Stuarts Draft and obviously east is doing well... It's just one small area that simply refuses to produce convective rainfall right now ....
  5. Yeah I was outside running, and had just enough time to complete the run. It got bad out there about 5 minutes after I got back to the house. When I went out to run I figured we'd get hit closer to 6pm, but as you said a new line formed almost on top of us while the line that was going to hit us later fell apart. Man the summer storms in our area are becoming more and more intense.
  6. Frequent nearby CTGs with no rain falling made for a wild scene here earlier, I don't think I've ever seen that before, I picked up about 0.14" overall with winds gusting in the 35-40 mph range at peak I'd guess
  7. One if the crazier storms of recent memory. Flooding and trees diwn across several of our rail lines. One train struck tree on pascack Valley line and enormous one came down in millburn. Had wonderful clouds coming across shark inlet earlier.
  8. My weather station nearby in Faber, VA is at 13 inches since July 1st. Have had measurable rain every day of August so far. .

  10. Yeah this is wild - absolutely nothing again today This almost has to be the driest area in the mid Atlantic since the 3rd week of June. From here up past the old East Side race track is barely hitting 2 inches in 6 weeks( Im not sure exactly where you are located ) It is what it is... Im glad Tstorm/ convective season is slowly coming to an end now as we hopefully trend toward more synoptic precip in the next several months ...
  11. Tons of 1990s heat lightning here from the Sturbridge storm
  12. I think I’m gonna be sick. Thank God the Sox are on an unbelievable streak but I’d sacrifice some of it for a storm or two.
  13. Standing g outside under the overhang between house and garage. Starting to get tingles all over from electricity. May have to head in
  14. Some decent thunder and flashes at times but still pretty meh overall here.
  15. Today
  16. Water from my neighbor's apartment is leaking into my apartment. I feel sick. We just now got my apartment furnished and with lots of new furniture. I hope it stops where it's at. My neighbors are nowhere to be found. They are in the apartment intermittently.

  18. Yes, right under the trough...but that was essentially the only area on the globe where that happened, which is why it's so exceedingly rare at any given locale during modern times. That said, our area is due for a run of colder seasons relative to the west.
