  1. Past hour
  2. I think we are going to average out closer to average than not over this time period. I see heat building, but still persistent storminess. It looks muggy some of the time. Here in northern Westchester/Putnam it looks like 3 days in the 80s this week peaking on Thursday but mid 70s for the weekend. Next week looks like 70s too for the first part of the week. Depends on the area. Tomorrow will be mid-70s for most of the forum. Weekend looks like 70s and humid. And maybe struggling to reach 70 next Wednesday. It isn't screaming hot or well above average like I am hearing.
  3. I guess she said burn https://youtu.be/LCnebZnysmI?si=y3IBOGCFMUd1KVEW
  4. Nope. Need a Carington level event to get through the light pollution.
  5. So looking east from the Cape, there is smoke on the water from a fire in the sky.
  6. Hey now, I relocated to here a year ago. I have experienced a CT summer already. I know that it can and does get into the 90s, I just got the impression from last year that it wasn't something that happens a lot in a given summer like it does where I came from (and last summer was above normal, apparently?), so already being hit with this at the beginning of June is yucky. Just hope my A/C can keep up with it. I can't afford to get a window unit for my bedroom right now.
  7. WTF was with that one dude walking up to the crater rim while everyone else is running down lol
  8. Cool start to June, 40s here last night.
  9. and perhaps 1993-94 too which was severely cold and the models had huge problems with all the storms we had that year, underestimating the lingering cold.
  10. 10/10 June day. Not ready for summer humidity.
  11. Collin Rugg on X: "NEW: Tourists seen running for their lives as Italy’s Mount Etna erupts, sending ash "several kilometers" into the sky. A tour company said they had about 40 people on the volcano when it erupted, as reported by CNN. The last time Mt. Etna erupted like this was in https://t.co/Vf25XkefP6" / X Etna erupts.
  12. Timing of the volcano has an impact as well. The effects of it usually have a lag, and Pinatubo happend in June 1991, so the summer of 1992 would have been one year after. Also, the effects may have lingered into the following the winter, with the major snowstorm in March 1993.
  13. It reminded me of when I was in Barcelona, the same kind of heat. Or what we had in 2010 lol.
  14. did you see the northern lights from Lynbrook?
  15. I'm in Florida at the moment so not in the know but maybe they're short staffed?
  16. Today
  17. Not very hot, but more like warm to very warm. Maybe 90 on Thursday the other days will be low to mid 80s.
  18. The interesting thing is, I see clear blue skies to my north and east and west and a yellowish haze to my south.
  19. If Dubai can air condition the sand on their beaches than we can artificially heat up our near coastal waters beginning in May. It would be a boon to the beach business.
  20. artificially heating up the oceans beginning in May is necessary.
  21. This is why I can't wait for SST to heat up to 70+
  22. wow, thats crazy. Glad though for you. A girl i coached in softball, her and her husband had a tree split their shed completely in half
