    lol Actually the sky is bluest at solar noon on the solstice if perfectly clear. More blue making it to our eyes…less scattered away. Mostly Mie scattering today though.

    Ugh. Noticed it here too. There’s a gap in the western woods here on the NW side of my property that lets the sun shine through later during peak solar. Tonight was the first night the sun started setting south of that gap again.

    What beautiful weather behind the storm! I said it earlier, and I’ll say it again definitely had echoes of a coastal storm, including the rapid clearing and beautiful conditions behind it

    TBH i’m not really thrilled on how mild it’ll be but I also like extremes, and this will be the most extreme El Niño on record, which fascinates me. Plus I think the +QBO could really reinforce it. It should be interesting

    Those late phasers are always solid here for NW flow up the hills. 97-98 was pretty decent here. When they phase early as full coastal blizzards, I tend to do worse because they usher in polar high pressure too quickly. Happened a lot in years like 09-10. I don’t expect even 97-98 again considering how much it’s warmed since then but I’ll take an active coastal track regardless if most are rainstorms. Also looking forward to watching SVR outbreaks down south.

    Yeah raining here. Temp down to 69 after a high of 77.

    Yes and no. I’ve sweated my ass off piling silage in September as well as dealing with leaves in October. I’ve also froze my ass off doing both. One never knows. Main reason I rely on this place and the people who can give me a “ heads up” on what to expect.

    Thinking it might have hit 90 in Philadelphia today as well... so far only showing 89, but the inter hour readings showed several 90's after today's high was reported. If so, mini heatwave here with 90 Saturday, 91 yesterday, and possibly today. If that is the case our tally would now be up to 29 for the summer season.
