LEK,

your thoughts on fri nt/sat LES?:)

Gimme a little bit....haven't even looked!! Been busy in training today (boring), and came home to do an "A" job on the driveway. (Been too many "C" jobs, and the packed snow under where we pull in was getting a little lumpy!)

Total for this system (two measurements around 12 hours apart) yeilded my BY around 7.5"....nice light fluff falling now.

We got 10" or so out of this last storm in the hills southwest of Ithaca. The LES formed from the backlash of that storm over Ontario was enhanced by Seneca Lake giving us 5" of fluff on top of the storm's snow. Ski conditions are very good to excellent. The snow is so light and fluffy that you sometimes hit bottom, even with 10" of snow! Still using rock skis in the woods. Skied this morning at Greek Peak and conditions were very good and powdery. Nothin like skiing in 10" of fluff!

The NWS in Albany is going out tomorrow to Berkshire County to try and talk with the various weather spotters who report to them, my station WTEN and WRGB. They want to see where and how often the observations were made. (Basically were they taken correctly). I was informed by the MIC (Ray O'Keefe) that there might be a 24 hour Historical record for Massachusetts at stake. But in order to certify a record it has to be thoroughly investigated.
