@dendrite I've been eating paw paws all week, awesome !!   Make you regular as can be :)

Ha. I don’t have issues with them although I did have one that was way past ripe and it left me feeling buzzed. Baking with them can definitely give you GI issues.

Where did you get yours?

next door neighbor has a tree and bought over a bag the other night with about 20 of em.   A pain to scrape all the seeds and separate the fruit from the skin.

I’d be curious to know if he has grafted varieties or regular seedlings. The wild seedlings can be a lot seedier and have a bit of an aftertaste.

it was too wet to mow this week; hope we can get that done today, lawn's getting super long with all the rain and ideal growing conditions

i overseeded on labor day. haven't mowed since. it's a jungle out there, mowing tomorrow after I clean up dead sticks that came down over the last 4 weeks.

I have some lespedeza in the lawn near the house and prostrate knotweed growing in the driveway and the edges. I don’t mind some weeds, but those 2 I can do without. My little meadow area by the run has milky spurge growing in there too.

Anyone ever use one of those propane weed torches? I’ve been thinking about cooking the affected areas next spring. I know it will kill everything, but I assume the grass will eventually grow back.

Congrats Dendrite !   Put it in a smoothie with vanilla high protein yogurt, its really good.   Definitely a unique flavor combo.    Those fruits look awesome

Full on Oak and Beech assault today.  Just pouring down last night and today, and still somehow there are still a decent amount left hanging on that will linger for more cleanup.

Do you still have large beech there? I've got a lot of 30-40 footers in the back woods, but old ones died in the past 10+ years.

I have a few pretty tall beeches out back, some are still hanging on (the small ones are toast). had a good -sized one next to the house that finally gave in this year.

Most are 50 ft or less. My entire road has soooo many, just loaded with Beech. Very dense sections.  I dont see alot of dead ones from beech leaf disease.  Im sure its just a matter of time unfortunately.  I have only been here 8 years, so maybe some larger ones succumbed befors that. The majority are in the 15-30ft range.
