Tyler Penland
Saw a photo of what appeared to be a lowered mesocyclone from a drone shot in Asheville but hard to tell for sure not great quality. It looks fake. Not saying there wasn't a funnel (there almost definitely was), but I doubt it looked like that.
calculus1
Spending the week in Almond, SW of Bryson City. Multiple heavy rain showers this evening. Very dark at various times in the midst of those storms. Looking forward to lower temps and humidity the next couple of days.Saw we got significant rain this evening back home in Hickory, too.

calculus1
Very close by but not really doing anything on the lake. Just enjoying a quiet week with the family. Doing some hiking, mainly. Also ventured down to Andrews for their Rail Tour (rail bikes on old tracks!), which is really cool. I recommend it, if you’re ever in the area.
Met1985
We dry out a few days before we get back into more rainfall. This is a drought buster pattern. Asheville has nearly 9 inches This month and Raleigh has nearly 13 inches which is more rainfall in 1 month than the past 6 months combined.
Maggie Valley Steve
We'll need to monitor the guidance the next few days as there are indications the a vort diving into Ohio begins to close off into a 500mb upper closed low that may drop South into Eastern Tennessee and the Mountains on Sunday into Monday with a cold front. That could enhance rain chances into early next week.
