Spending the week in Almond, SW of Bryson City. Multiple heavy rain showers this evening. Very dark at various times in the midst of those storms. Looking forward to lower temps and humidity the next couple of days.

Saw we got significant rain this evening back home in Hickory, too.

Very close by but not really doing anything on the lake. Just enjoying a quiet week with the family. Doing some hiking, mainly. Also ventured down to Andrews for their Rail Tour (rail bikes on old tracks!), which is really cool. I recommend it, if you’re ever in the area.

We'll need to monitor the guidance the next few days as there are indications the a vort diving into Ohio begins to close off into a 500mb upper closed low that may drop South into Eastern Tennessee and the Mountains on Sunday into Monday with a cold front. That could enhance rain chances into early next week.
