These dewpoints are simply unacceptable at these temps. Qatar World Cup weather is not what we need for ours!

The only acceptable place for such temps/dews is chasing Bangladesh and with a proper hodograph. Otherwise it ain't right anywhere!

I figure with more thunderstorms the humidity will hold in. Now looks like at least low 90s highs drags into next week. Heat index will stay 100 to 105. Guess after about a week of 110 that'll start to feel normal though.

Until then enjoy the long weekend. Happy 250 America!

I'm not sure why our heat advisory hasn't been an extreme heat warning. We hit a heat index of 108 yesterday and 110 so far today. I think that's above the advisory level.

From my sister in

Cookeville District: The Cookeville District remains the hardest hit and continues to have the largest number of outages. Crews are working through widespread storm damage, including downed power lines, trees on power lines, and broken poles. This is a significant restoration effort and will not be completed tonight. If you are still without power in the Cookeville area, please make preparations in case your power is out overnight. Based on current damage assessment, some members in the Cookeville district will remain without power tonight.

While we are working as quickly as possible, some outages may take two days to restore due to the extent of the damage.

At this time, we have

Massive thunderstorm finally hit my area. Trees down, power out. It's miserable with the humidity being so high still. It rained 1.5 inches in about 45 minutes in the storm.

Sorry to hear your power is out.  We just missed the rain but if I had to choose I will take the miss and keep the power on.

Same with sweetwater. Pretty intense lighting too. Havent had a storm like that in a long while. It’ll be interesting to see how storms setup tomorrow with the Hight setting more in Kentucky.

I was actually at Turkey Creek in a movie and it thundered there and had rained when I came out. East of there was drier and I got back here as the storm was hitting hard. It moved S to N.

They were moving east to west earlier then started moving S to N. My current forecast is dry tomorrow but you guys may have a better shot at storms.
