The RAP is running and closer to it's wheelhouse, 2 inches in Crossville, 3 over Holston, 4-5 my area, 5-7 down to Knox, 6-8 and still snowing eastern areas. Most of Hamilton around 1 inch but 9/10ths over downtown Chattanooga.

32 here in Gville. We are running a little warmer than expected. Nothing alarmed. If we hit 40 that will be a bummer but at least the ground has been so cold all week.

I have seen the sun shine like this before, especially with systems like the one we are having. The sun will be out right up until it clouds over and the snow starts falling.  Don't really know why it happens like that in the valley, but often it does.

AI GFS ticked west slightly with it's precip shield. In line with most of the non-NAM modeling.

Had a short period of light snow in Pennington gap about 45 minutes ago that lasted about 20 Minutes.. just a few flakes here as we just got grazed with that band.

Secondary roads are deteriorating quickly. US-19 and 56 are still okay. Route 80 holding up so far. I don't know what VDOT treated it with but I'm impressed. Visibility has dropped to a mile and the ground on south facing slopes is turning white (north faces like my home kept a tiny snowpack)

Spoke too soon. Steady light snow just started here; small flakes. Mountains to my north are whited out. Cloud layer is rather thiñ as dim sun filtering through.

The NAMs have dried up considerably. Everyone else maintains so far.

Temp has jumped from 31 to 36 within a half hour. Pressure dropped and is rising again vice versa with solar radiation.

I don’t know if you guys have access to sub hourly models but they have steadily kept snow showers in the forum longer as the day has progressed.

checking in. I was alittle nervous this morning because the NAM dried up at 6z and the HRRR was trending drier in the 7-10z runs. But 12z has given me some confidence back.

I might be going crazy but the returns on radar are strange. Off in the distance here I don't really see many clouds but it's more of a fog. Just a weird observation. Complete blue sky here with the sun out with a white fog off in the distance.

Cloud layer has thinned; still solid stratiform but transparent enough the Sun is coming through pretty good. A few small flakes still falling but nothing like it started. Current Temperature is up to 28. Jumped 2 degrees last 45 Minutes.

It started off milky here. The first flakes fell from a pale blue sky. I haven't seen defined clouds today haha. Granted it was just after dawn.

I think it's partly because the sun is bright right now. You can see high cirrus here but just above the mountain ridge you can see the hazy/fog layer I'm talking about.
