??? Can someone explain this 850 temp map. Yes later hours would blast 850s to death. But I have checked out on the GEM when I saw this.

The UKIE is like "hey, let's have a severe thunderstorm outbreak mid winter storm as I cut due north and flood 50s into Tennessee!"

That's the second time in 2 days the UKIE cut. The reason it does, it has a 1035 high 1000 miles north of all other modeling.

That H being 400 miles N of North Dakota when all other models have it 10mb or more stronger and over the Iowa,Illinois, Minnesota area, is suspect.

Yeah, don't think it plays out like that. Like it could rain, mix, dry slot, whatever, but that high magically weakening 10mb unlike every other model does not make any sense. Feel like other mechanisms of lower totals are way more plausible.

Euro AI is a county north with the heavy snow vs 18z. Lots of ice/sleet on it after some snow, with blazing 850s and surface temps mainly in the 20s.

I’m out unless things change tomorrow. This storm has been like winning a game til halftime and now we are getting dominated in the second half. Why we can’t have epic snowstorms like the 90s or early 2000s just kills me.

I guess that's better than creeping even further north, for now. At this point I'm happy if the valley can get any accumulating snow and have it not all washed away by the rain mid-storm

This has quickly went from historic to typical Miller B type climo. for mby. Guess adding AI is  kinda like polishing a turd. Really think they need to go back to the old truncated system, or have a physics based grid that's designed by someone who didn't get their degree from a cracker jack box lol.
