IrishRob17
-10 was my low and low for the season, last year I managed -11 on 1/22.
gravitylover
Didn't go below this morning so it looks like yesterday's -5 will be the low for the season unless something unexpected happens. Time to start the melt now, I'm looking forward to seeing some pavement and less water ice in my driveway.
IrishRob17
Luckily it wasn’t a lot of precipitation but the walk, driveway, and cars are covered in ice, 24/22 at the moment.
gravitylover
It was crunchy and ugly until, all of a sudden, the sun came out and *poof*, the melt begins. Up to 35° already and it feels awesome sitting here in the sun with the dog sprawled on the couch
IrishRob17
No sun up here but it did jump to 35 at home.
gravitylover
Sun went back into hiding but it did its job. Up to 38° now
CPcantmeasuresnow
Light snow the past 30 minutes. I had to get out of the main forum. To many coastal dwellers declaring winter over for the entire forum in February. The same sh!t we hear every year.

gravitylover
We just took a ride up.to Tivoli, it flaked along the way, things here are wet at 36° and the sun is trying to win. Looks like it's snowing pretty good over in the Catskills.
CPcantmeasuresnow
Morning low of 11°. Day 60 with snow cover beating winter of 2020/2021 which was the last winter with above average snowfall, 59 inches that winter imby. Still at 43.8 inches for this winter, 5 inches or so below seasonal norm for the entire winter.
gravitylover
This is definitely the most days with snow cover in the 30 years I've been in this house. It almost balances out the slightly under 2000-2020 average to keep the winter an A. Almost.

I've only been keeping snow coverage records for 10 years but this isn't the top season yet, with 60 days and counting, in the last ten. 2016/17 was 85 days, and 2017/18 was 70 days, helped along of course by an epic March and beginning of April. If we can have another solid four weeks it should beat both.
gravitylover
I don't remember those years being that long. I also don't remember what my wife said we're having for dinner in a few minutes
CPcantmeasuresnow
Anyone get anything last night? I measured 0.2 inches. Brings me to an even 44 for the season. One inch exactly since the 16+ storm end of January. Things look to liven up soon hopefully.

gravitylover
I had to go out to Montauk yesterday. It was weird to see as much snow all the way to the east end as there is up here. They also never came out of the soup so the temp stayed in the upper 30s.
IrishRob17
Not gonna lie, at this point part of me is wondering if I'll wind up with below normal snowfall for the season.
gravitylover
Well, considering the last few years I'm already above the new normal

Wont take much for most of us to get to normal. A 4-6" event should do it Temp 34 & cloudy w/ some dense fog above 1000'

A decent winter but can't help but to think of might have been had the precip not dried up. Greedy, I know.
