 At the end of this month, met. autumn will finally be here! Also, this is per climo the first of the 3 most active months tropically speaking. Hopefully, we have a much calmer season around these parts than the devastating 24!

 An east west band of scattered thunderstorms, some heavy, has popped up from W of my area to offshore. I started hearing thunder a little while ago and now it is raining at varying intensities.

Edit: I ended with ~1” for the day, which I think is the heaviest since July 13th.

Pronounced Guilford county split going on. Odd how things can change in just a few weeks

What a 1st day of August. My bucket tipper was stuck and had to go out in the downpour to release what ever made it stuck. Right now we are at 2.60" for the day with steady rain still falling. I could probably add another .15 - .20" to the total that fell before I freed the tipper. Amazing afternoon.

Thought I was just going to be "crumbed" again with 0.05" before midnight, but overnight something came out of nowhere and gave us a healthy 0.98".  Much appreciated.

CHATHAM COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN GEORGIA...  

* UNTIL 645 PM EDT.  

* AT 443 PM EDT, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A NEARLY STATIONARY AREA OF  
THUNDERSTORMS OVER WINDSOR FOREST AND HUNTER ARMY AIRFIELD. AS  
MUCH AS 2.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE PAST HOUR AND  
ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES COULD FALL THROUGH 645 PM, RESULTING IN  
CONSIDERABLE URBAN FLOODING. PREPARE NOW FOR POSSIBLE CLOSED ROADS  
DUE TO FLOODING.  

HAZARD...FLASH FLOODING CAUSED BY THUNDERSTORMS.

IMPACT...FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS, URBAN  
AREAS, HIGHWAYS, STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS

High of 81 today.dew point hovered around 70 most of the day and combined with a decent ne breeze, it actually felt good out there for a change. Looks like we will be dropping into the 60's tonight as it is currently 70 at 10:30 pm.

Picked up 2.62" of rain last night. A bone chilling 69 right now. Starting Aug off well.

67 degrees, overcast and breezy. Sitting out back watching the race. Been a while that it's been this cold during the afternoon

Even though dews are still in the low 70s keeping it humid (so still sweating when the wind isn’t blowing), the steady NE winds along with overcast and only 81F near got me to take my first outside walk since early June I think. What’s interesting is that the winds off the 86F/30C ocean are not cooling winds. Right now they’re the opposite!

Low of 66. Lowest since early June. With the wind, it actually felt cold. Beautiful day. High of 81. Dew points in the mid 60's felt so nice.

 We’re getting pretty heavy rains at 1AM (8/4) from an area moving only slowly NW. Hopefully, the heavy doesn’t last too long.
