  Hopefully today is the start of some cooler temperatures because the last week has been brutal.  The Heat this past 3-5 days has been downright disrespectful!!!  On a positive note, the 10-day outlook does look good with low temps in the low 60's next week and highs in the low 80's.  It's almost football time in Tennessee!

Disrespectful is a good way to describe foul weather. I'll have to remember that!

Yeah the worst heat should break for the season after today (Wednesday). Some folks I-40 north are already in the new airmass. Still cookin' south of the front!

As usual I forecast this first CF to be weaker than progged. NAM 2m is too cool. MOS and NWS are on that with average highs (aggregate region) 88-90 through Sunday. Some will enjoy 80s esp up on the Plateau and near Kentucky. The rest of us will have to wait for front #2. Clark she's a beaut! -Cousin Eddy

First front is mostly low levels behind Erin with only modest Td improvement. Second front for Monday has true upper air support with trough over GL even OV. That'll deliver for our Tenn Valley including scouring some dews. 

Then the trough pattern seems to hold for a week to 10 days from Monday. Looks like it might warm up again after Labor Day but we're talking around 90 with lower humidity and ever lower sun angle. That'd doable.

My temp forecast for early next week is 70/52 for Tuesday. Rocking some early October feel in August is hard to beat.

Downright chilly outside right now.  It was kind of a shock given it is still August.  I am gonna have to dig a jacket out of the closet in the morning.

Currently 53 here at Midnight on a hilltop. Probably 47-48 here in Morning with mid 40's Valley's. Cool but not coldest for this time of year. Record for August 26 in Pennington gap was 38 back in 1986.

Just missed the record low of 46.  So far, looks like 48 will be the lowest that we drop at TRI.  Update....The coldest WxUnderground station that I can find currently is 47 in KPT at the moment w/ TRI having risen a couple of degrees to 50.

On a side note, bird migrations from the north have started early....

51.7 IMBY this morning. I was up at Fall Creek Falls Monday and Tuesday. I'm not sure what the low temp was Tuesday morning, but it felt like upper 40's. Excellent running weather.

46.4 this morning. Hopefully we don't pay for this in October.

Mt Leconte hit 38 this morning which is its coldest reading for Aug 27th since records have been kept there beginning in 1988.
