Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I’ve never been a huge Phil fan but would be cool to see him grab a record like that. That might even drive Tiger to push to play seriously again to take that away from him.

I've always liked Phil. His personality makes him intriguing. His style of play, especially at the US Open is maddening to watch. Winning a 6th major at age 50 would be very impressive and definitely move him up the list of all time greats. Interesting if Koepka pulls it off he is tied with Phil for major wins and he has won multiple US Opens.

Fun to watch though especially when he gets creative with his wedges. Even with his major wins, he’ll always be remembered with the choke job on 18 at Wingfoot where he took the driver instead of a fairway metal up by 2 strokes...sliced it into the tent and ended up with a double bogey, eventually losing to Geoff Ogilvy. mreaves
Here’s the problem with Phil in the lead, we have to endure god awful, sentimental pieces on his life. Ugh. Luckily, for a little while at least, I can just watch the EPL season wrap up.

Wasn't the first time he blew a lead in a major either, I've grown to like him but he was maddening to watch when he was younger.

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Good story I suppose. Better for the game as the public pours in to watch Phil win instead of someone like Louie who no one outside of golf would recognize.
Chrisrotary12
Phil winning was a big loss for the sports books. He was 200 or 300 to 1 in most spots.

That was the worst probably. He has had many tough sunday's at the US Open.
GCWarrior
Walked 18 at Ellinwood in Athol, MA yesterday. Nice old course. Fairways aren't great but the greens are pretty nice. Very tight challenging course with an interesting 6 par 3, 5 par 5, par 71 layout.

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
It’s been a busy spring for me so the US Open just creeped up. Should be a good one, as usual. Torrey Pines has been rebuilt/remade too so a lot of different looks for the players.
RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Throwing a few outright bets in and dfs darts with minimal research…watch me crush it ha: Rahm +1050 Finau +2200 (can you just win one time, just once?) Casey +4500 Rose +6600 (too good of odds to pass up) Hoffman +8500 Wolff +22500 (A heart pick as I hope he feels better and is passed his mental health struggles. Good kid.) RUNNAWAYICEBERG
TP is playing a lot easier than expected today. The rough does not seem all that intimidating, especially for a US Open. We’ll see if it toughens up over the next 3 days.
