I don't think I've ever seen an inverted thermal trough of that magnitude before! It's impacting and steering that entire Storm system.

Yeah, and as a tangent, check out the meso lp that forms over L. Superior on the 00z rgem and 12km nam.  Best seen on TT with north-central US region selected.  Then use the slider bar to loop it.  Super cool, especially on the rgem.

Saturday, mid-level closed low over Manitoba Canada swings the next
shortwave towards the region. This will bring in the next round of
accumulating light snows through Saturday night

LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Lots of uncertainty during this period. The only thing that appears
certain is a continuation of below normal temperatures. Could be a
fairly active period (per the GFS) or a bit quieter and mainly dry
(ECMWF) as a large sfc high builds in from Canada behind the
Saturday/Saturday night system.

Hate to be that guy but walking outside every morning in the freezing cold and my car barely starting is getting old. I'm definitely going to be ready for spring come mid march. Yes @rochesterdave I know wrong forum. :P

You beat me to it (it was coming). At least I didn’t hear about the pool. :D

Going skiing tonight, so still enjoying winter to the full, but come mid/late March lets get some sun and warmth and open the pool in April.

Of course you get bitter. Your snow machine died. Lucky for me Ontario only froze once and that’s only if you believe the old timers. Lol
