June Observations

Recommended Posts

The big storms have all missed me this morning but it is raining here. .08" so far. It has helped cool it off to 72 from a high of 82 earlier.

Thunderstorms all around us today but didn't get anything until about an hour ago. .28" was all we could get. That brings me to 3.01" for the month.

Had a high of 92 today. Our first time above 90 in mby. Currently it is 88/70.

Side note: I got my new temp/humidity sensor last night and installed it today. So back to realistic dew points and humidity readings. Woohoo.

What system are you using, yota?

Davis Vantage Pro 2 but it is old. I noticed this morning that my temp was way off. It showed 92 but was only 84 according to 2 other thermometers I had. So I need to find out what is wrong.

Once again the big storms just missed us. Got only .04" from them with lots of thunder. Did cool us off from 88 to 77 for a bit but it is back up to 85/75.

Had it assembled wrong per instructions. Fixed it and right now it is reading the same as other thermometers but will see tomorrow morning.

Thunderstorm forming right around me. Lots of thunder but little rain so far. I think it is just missing me again. Currently 86/78.

Well the storms finally hit and dumped .75" on us. Cooled it off to 72 but then the sun came out and the temp and dew point shot up to 80/78 with the humidity at 95%. You could cut the humidity with a knife. Still high but de point has dropped to 75 and humidity is down to just 80%.

Picked up about 0.02" this morning. The expected afternoon/evening storms have failed to materialize again.

We’ve done a tremendous job of missing storms here in the last week. 0.00” again. Feels good out this evening though

Had a 90% chance of heavy thunderstorm's yesterday but only got .10" from a steady light rain. Really missed the forecast yesterday although the light rain did keep the temp in the mid 70's most of the day. Currently sunny and 89/68. Dew point has actually dropped during the day so far.

Almost 2 pm and dew point has dropped to 63.

Never thought I would see a temp of 94 with a dew point of 59 here in Eastern NC in late June. Humidity is at 31%. Amazingly dry air in place for late June.

A somewhat comfortable 88/59 on Friday. Just 0.02" in the last 7 days. Today looks to be dry as well.

Seems strange to have a Slight Risk yet only a 20% chance of showers/storms.

Currently 88/70 with haze.

No measurable rain. Going on 2 weeks without measurable rain. Everything has missed here by a couple miles last 2 weeks it seems. So close you can smell it!

Today or tomorrow might be our first 90 degree day in Greensboro, which would be our fourth latest on record behind:

July 2nd (1983)

July 5th (2017)

July 18th (1972)
