Since we certainly like to dream about it all the time and model watch in the winter I thought this might be fun. Draw up on a map your dream setup. Label your LP path, your high pressures, your 500mb heights etc. Create the perfect snow storm.

Jan 88! Will be dreamed about forever!! Perfect storm would be temps in low 20s and DP in 0's, 1.5-2" of QPF on the way, warm nose over JAX Florida! :)

Jan 1988 was a dream storm. However, March of 1980 was # 1 if you like cold temps during a winter storm. Heavy snow with temps in the single digits is hard to beat.

How I remember that one. I lived in Virginia Beach then. 2 days of snow, high winds. 18" with 6 foot drifts. Awesome storm, would love to see another like this.

I would also like to see another Late Dec. 1989 storm. 12" here in eastern NC right before Christmas.

My parents got married in New Orleans 3/1/1980.  They drove back home to Raleigh, NC the next day.  They have told me stories about the insane amounts of snow up there during this storm.

Believe it it or not I was born at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.  As much **** as I give you NC folk I was born there!
