Looks as if this storm may have more than one circulation. At any

rate, the folks between Carpenter and Pineville may want to be on

the look-out.

The radar signature near Pineville was not too promising at 443 PM EST.

Very mountainous area with not much vision of the sky.

Also, does anyone else notice Morristown issuing a TOR with two full

counties in it? Not everyone in that warning is in the path of a

dangerous mesocyclone.

I wouldn't question the nws.

Doesn't take much for. A cycle to shift in either direction and affect a different county.

That's actually pretty questionable. We're better than that at least, false alarms are high enough as it is. Not quite good enough to only TOR the meso, but still better than full counties.

I would not have said anything except for the fact that it was Morristown who issued it.

Not sure why, but their polygons have had difficulties recently.

Good reflections Jhamps on the human impact of much of what we discuss in these forums. I know Harrisburg over to Marion and Carbondale well because of family in the area in prior years and it is good to remind us of our strength in situations like this. That's why I'm glad JoMo's observations of 9 months of recovery in Joplin are so helpful and inspirational on the main page of this forum.

yep, thanks for the good words, I just needed to get it down on paper, err monitors lol
