brad1551
Possible big rain maker popping up on the GFS for the mid alantic next week? Could these big rain makers we have had the last week of august through last week, play a big part if what to expect for this winter 2011-2012? Just wondering! MN Transplant
Feast or famine. I'd rather the famine for a little while. Technically, by the time that we get through the weekend the Lee remnants will roll off of the 30 day precip total, and we'll all be below average on that time span. Potomac is still fat. I drive over the legion every day. That river has been running high for what seems like forever. I have no problems with a dry spell or indian summer. I just hope the SE ridge dissappears around turkey day and doesn't return until march 21st.

aldie 22
Looking like a 1-2" event coming up...NAM can't make up it's mind...GFS seems sort of locked in on QPF amounts
Bob Chill
Looking like a 1-2" event coming up...NAM can't make up it's mind...GFS seems sort of locked in on QPF amounts 12z GFS staying consistent. Looking like a widespread 1"+ rain heading our way. At least it will be a 1-2 day event and won't hang around for a week like last month..... TalcottWx
I really don't understand why people think storms now will have anything to do with winter storms.
smokeybandit
I still have wet spots in my yard (well, thanks to the neighbors' yard) from last time around.
mattie g
I still have wet spots in my yard (well, thanks to the neighbors' yard) from last time around. A lot of the soil in my backyard is still really damp, too. We don't get a ton of sun back there this time of year because of the virtual jungle growing in our rear neighbor's yard.
