  1. Biased here but the annual thread had many uses: 1) It attempted to separate the frequent useless complaining posts from the discussion threads. 2) It was a literal coping mechanism. It allowed for winter lovers to use creativity to express their displeasure at how things were going. Whether it was funny posts, gifs, poetry, whatever, it allowed some to turn their frustration into something that added humor, and in doing so, value, to people that couldn’t complain to others close to them. 3) For me at least, it allowed a platform to satirize the utterly irrational veneration of winter. That’s not a judgment against anyone—because very few of us would be here if we didn’t hold wx in extremely high regard. There’s a reason it lasted a half decade and now has offshoots in other forums. In the end, I do think it helped people, even if they didn’t realize it in the moment.
  2. I’m not yet sure I’ll get it, but all I want is for my dad to be able to see a wintry landscape on Christmas. It’d be his first since 2002. He’s in surgery as I type.
  3. I imagine this makes the 12/25 deal less likely to mix/rain down here?
  4. As much as I hate winter tracking, this is pretty fun. We don't even have consensus about the wx 18 hours for now.
  5. I'd take in a heartbeat, but I'm deeply skeptical. A lot to sort out with what is real and what is phantom.
  6. Very easy to see the haves and have nots lol. Great shot though.
  7. For TT gifs you need to save and upload to a gif hosting site.
  8. Anthony desperately running through the halls of 1PP trying to get the commissioner to call the Taunton chief to send a response team out to the house and water rescue assets down the Taunton River. Can’t send help because they were defunded. Hate to see it. edit: not intended to be a political comment
  9. Yeah, that’s the main thing for me. We’re in the game, and unlike all the other “threats” thus far, the block gives us a fighting chance for things to trend better as we close in. I still expect a grinch rainer on Christmas lol, but at least we’re not tracking a late April airmass coming through.
  10. Had a heart attack the morning of my wedding (Tuesday). Thankfully, we convinced him to go to the hospital.
  11. Trees burned and illegally dumped in rivers across Connecticut this evening.
  12. Thanks. Still in the hospital and will need surgery. For now, he’s ok though. Tough time for all of us, but I appreciate the well wishes.
  13. It was warmer here today than May 1, 2021. Which I’ve come to expect in December and January smh.
  14. Just that quickly…games are starting to be postponed.
