  1. I don’t think that’s unreasonable. I’m a little higher personally, probably 8-12 out there. Not sure what our map will look like though. As long as it’s not a gfs abomination track I see good banding setting up well west of the center.
  2. I agree. I just want the Ukie narcan map to verify In all seriousness though, gotta get a map done this morning/early afternoon. Still personally thinking warning level snow back to the CT/NY border but what that looks like I’m still not quite sure.
  3. Ten miles isn’t a big deal but for parts of CT we’re pretty sensitive to the slight shifts. I know the WOR crew would like to hang onto overnight’s “gains”.
  4. I get it, but we have to remember these are just tools. There have been big individual misses or caves by the other models and even the ensembles—I’ve seen this particularly in tropical genesis/track/intensity forecasting. Obviously different than mid latitude cyclone forecasting, but this is why it’s important to not get too high or low on the specific runs and understand each model’s relative strengths/biases.
  5. If we can’t get real winter here, I’m totally on board with nuclear winter Seriously though, I agree. Not sure how some of these folks are able to walk upright with Cottonelle soft backbones. Winter is the worst around here. Ok, that’s all the complaining I’ll do lol. Still think we get a significant warning level event for the entire state.
  6. Ah ok. I got it. I’m more or less with that I think. Our first call with SCW will probably be more conservative WOR but still a warning level & high impact event. If I were making a map this very second I’d probably go 6-12 WOR (actually further west—imagine a line north of New Haven) and 12-18 east.
  7. I get it. A lot of ghosts too here in the CTRV. That said, I think even the eastern solutions will be good for the CT WOR folks given the general evolution highlighted in the post above and the tendency for deformation to setup further west.
  8. There’s nothing you can say that will stop the WOR crew from clutching rosary and saying Hail Mary’s for the next 72 hours. They’re as shaken as my poor DC weenie brethren trying to will this thing west and exorcise memories of past nightmare cutoffs. Thanks for trying though. Also why am I awake?
  9. Woah woah woah. The bus may be gone, but the weenies remain. We gotta will this one home.
  10. Broke down in the Stephens City desert. The torch did the rest. It’s a perfect vortex. If folks cash in, they become desperate for more. If folks fail, they’re desperate to cash in. Can’t escape it.
