  1. My luck has seemed to run out—being on the edge yesterday and this morning allowed the area to pile up a few feet, but most of the afternoon has been quiet.
  2. I’ve been on the north side and it’s been amazing. The stuff from Hamburg is unreal. This lull sucks I want more snow
  3. 2.3 miles to my east reporting 36” total 2.5 miles to my NW reporting 9” Insane gradient
  4. I was out for a while early this morning. Will go back out when things pick up.
  5. Absolute crush job. On northern edge of band and it’s a whiteout looking out my window.
  6. I’m on the northern side of the band, but we are getting smoked.
  7. These cutoffs are insane. You go from nothing to feet of snow in just a few miles. I’ve been on the right side of the line so far. Haven’t gone back outside yet.
  8. Mesoscale Discussion 1957 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1258 AM CST Fri Nov 18 2022 Areas affected...extreme western New York Concerning...Heavy snow Valid 180658Z - 181300Z SUMMARY...2+ inch/hr snowfall rates are expected to continue with the primary snow band into the mid-morning hours, promoting near-zero visibility and crippling travel conditions. DISCUSSION...A mature snow band, roughly 300 km in length, persists over Lake Erie and is continuing to produce 2+ inch/hr snowfall rates over and just to the south and east of Buffalo, NY. Unidirectional vertical wind profiles oriented parallel to Lake Erie's long axis suggest that the snow band should remain stationary and continue benefiting from a long fetch of ample low-level moisture. In addition, colder temperatures aloft overspreading Lake Erie continue to foster 8-9 C/km low-level lapse rates and 250 J/kg SBCAPE per 06Z mesoanalysis. Given a near-saturated, relatively deep dendritic growth zone and the aforementioned buoyancy, bouts of low-topped convection (perhaps with occasional lightning flashes) should continue to accompany the snow band, along with 2+ inch/hr snowfall rates, particularly with areas closest to the shoreline, where the buoyancy resides. The last few runs of the HRRR and 00Z HREF ensemble guidance also suggest that the snow band and accompanying 2+ inch/hr snowfall rates should persist into at least mid-morning, with crippling travel conditions and occasional bouts of near-zero visibility expected. ..Squitieri.. 11/18/2022
  9. It was an unbelievable drive through the peak of this band into Buffalo a few hours ago. Literally couldn’t see more than a few feet in front at times.
  10. This is WxWatcher007 reporting live from Buffalo, NY, just SW of Cheektowaga. It’s 29° and snowing moderately, and the drive to get here was the most intense of my life.
  11. Just catching up. Congrats @Bob Chill, I wish you and your family the best. An enormous amount of work for sure but when you find someone that brings you peace and joy there’s nothing like pursuing it.
  12. Cold night incoming. Already down to 30.6°.
  13. I wish I averaged 50-60 a year. Given the last four, I’m wondering if I average 30 I asked in the lawn thread, but am I cutting at the lowest setting with the final mow? It’s been work trying to get grass to grow out front and I don’t want to kill it.
