  1. As Ray said they’re all KUs but in order of severity BECS—think superstorm of 93 HECS—January 2022 blizzard in eastern Mass or the 2016 blizzard from DC to SNE MECS—your run of the mill 8-12” snowfall from Philly to Portland
  2. And you’re what, in your late 20s early 30s? You don’t need any advice from me, but some of the best words ever spoken to me were “life is short, youth is shorter”. We all kid but our lifestyles catch up with us one way or another. I got really sick out of nowhere a few years ago and it was likely due to a combination of stress, poor diet, and relative inactivity. I decided to invest in myself and my health and it’s a totally different world for me now.
  3. I finished at 44.4” in 2020-21. No other season since 2018-19 has come close.
  4. I wouldn’t classify it as that. Most of us are still well below Dec climo. But it’s all relative.
  5. Agree with this. It has to be on the Mt. Rushmore of epic events to be on the list. For CT I think it’s March 1888, Feb 1978, October 2011, and Feb 2013. Folks may argue with 2011, but there’s no dispute about the other 3.
  6. A spotter reported 4.0” in New Fairfield. With apologies to those that only care if 18-24” is falling in their backyard, it’s interesting that for the little critters we’ve gotten this season down here in the hinterlands, they’ve all overperformed to a degree. 06z Euro looks a bit colder for Wednesday and Thursday, particularly in MA. Quite marginal still, but the next thing on the table. Especially for our northern friends.
  7. That encouraged me to go out and measure just as sleet started. .8 here with the temp at 27.5°.
  8. Yeah that’s what I thought looking this morning. Positive to be sure but I think we want a more substantive jump now that we're inside ~5 days. Still time I suppose.
  9. Shame the s/w is coming apart as it gets further east but as it stands it’s nice to not have to battle temps for once. Temp dropped from 29.8 to 27.4 with -SN.
  10. Up there, yes. I’m not sure 1.7” here when my climo is ~11” for December is real contact by this point in the month. Yeah. It sucks.
  11. I totally disagree. I’d take cold and dry in a heartbeat over another torch for Christmas. Yeah…as cautiously optimistic as I am overall, if we can’t produce anything meaningful down here during a decent December, I’d find it hard to believe that next month is anything but more of the same, pretty 500 and MJO depictions be damned. You have to produce when the windows are open. Not even getting contact when you have an 88mph fastball in the strike zone tells me everything I need to know.
  12. I imagine @weatherwiz somewhere running this on loop while under 25 blankets.
  13. About 2.5 degrees colder than this point last night. It is beautiful out with the moon and stars and frost glistening everywhere. December night of yore. 21.0°/14
  14. Hey there! We do the best we can here in the valley of snowfall minimums.
  15. Love these kinds of mornings. Out volunteering to deliver food to needy families. Coldest morning since I started joining this annual event. 13.2°
  16. Nice little airmass. Barely over 32° today and a cold night on tap. Now at 22.7° and dropping. Could be the coldest night of the season so far. Pretty nice with all the holiday lights up. Edit: 22.0° seven minutes later
