Already 26C/79F - I'm thinking I get to 30 and over-perform. Low will be 21-22C overnight!
-
The most smoky day yet, the sky is entirely blotted out with the modest orange ball. Now instead of streaks of overcast we have this dreaded blight!
-
My low was 3C/37F. The smoke plume has arrived over me looking at sat. With how dank this May was, at least I wasn't breathing in the smoke with that haze blocking out 25% of the sun. Not sure about these sunny days coming up.
-
Enjoyed last evening once it was clear, felt better. Then first thing this morning walked quite a bit while it was sunny with the green everywhere established. Now back to overcast as of 10:30, this is unreal. Still feels chilly too.
-
Another dark overcast day 8C/43F, first rays of sunlight briefly in about 100 hours early in aft. This is the shittiest May 18-24 I've ever lived through!
-
Haven't seen the sun for 3 days, high of 8 to 10C/46F each time - feels good man. Don't know how often we get into single digit highs this late into May but I know of none. Last week its deep summer of 28C/83F for days on end, now back to fall. Maybe it'll get to nearly 40 by the time my favorite month rolls in.

After scrolling and smash, just make a run for it barefoot! Here's another offbeat clip, Reed throws up in his mouth after a close call: https://x.com/Nerdy_Addict/status/1924982658649543083 I have no idea why and what is happening, Reed doesn't seem to be the type to get shook from a close call. It reminded me how there was a report that during a chase he had a seizure years ago, no closure on that either. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=embed_video&v=1206443284825789 ^ Total bedlam, the others in the car start screaming that they are in danger, to stop recording, after the dominator is spun.

This is a historic tornado that just hit Plevna KS, already seeing homes leveled - not sure how much of Plevna was destroyed as reports are showing mainly the west part was hit. Apparently the gtg got to 250mph just before hitting. What is it with night time monsters this year? Every event.
-
Peculiar since there is so little lightning illuminating the tornadoes themselves til recently when this monster spun another wedge that was seen a few mins ago. As of 11:38pm CDT, the gtg is 210mph!
-
So there is a confirmed large wedge tornado heading towards Greensburg KS, north movement, at night, also in May - WTF!?

This evenings storms came early, multi-cluster at 11:30. Just like that one Apr event, lightning and thunder started tame but as the cells lerched NE my temp was dropping so the t/td spread narrowed and the lightning got more intense with climax once again at 12:45 am lol. I would call it 2 distinct rounds but it seemed to drag on. Frequent lightning.
-
The squall line was falling apart as it came to SON, almost like its energy was jolted forward to pop a bunch of cells ahead of it which is what I woke up to at 1:30am but it was short thunder and quick shower. Then at 3:30 got the main event the lightning quickly escalated some very bright but the thunder wasn't as impressive as what I had in April to no surprise. The downpour was the heaviest of the year, got 10 mm/.4". The lightning stopped instantly at once. it rained out, then a few laggards. Just a typical t-storm, the winds were a bit higher but nothing to note. I'm sick of these night time storms.

Adding 3C to whatever my high is forecast to be has been working out well, another 28C/82F day with higher humidity. My avg is 16C. Lows are now becoming comfy too I think it was 14C overnight. It was very cloudy tues and weds and the puffys got dense this afternoon for another dark one after this morning's sun. Exceptional deep summer goodness.

The last time Michigan experienced a tornado rated F4 or higher was on April 2, 1977 (48 years!!!) in Augusta, Kalamazoo. The most recent strong tornado was that EF3 that struck Gaylord on May 20, 2022 - the strongest tornado in the state in 45 years. Will today break one of the longest met streaks we know of?

Got to 28C/82.5F by noon, point high was 23C These hourlies have been aberrant! Verga approaching from the south

I bagged my first 30C/86F day of 2025 this afternoon, we are crisp dry and overperformed again. This first 30 is early, I think I typically get mine in late May but Ive reached it May 1 in 2015 and almost had it in early April of 2010. Dreamy stretch of blue skies and warmth compared to the wretched start to May I had! RH was 14% at noon, low of 6C/43F. 25th annv. of the worst t-storm, that was a soupy 26C unlike this dry heat. That beast cell started back in Iowa that morning and reached me by 6pm with thunder starting at 5:30pm.
-
I haven't been following the svr recently so looked at the SPC storm reports for May and its consistently 2-4 tor reports, typically some landspout in NM/TX and then a report or 2 somewhere on the eastern US side. The hail and wind reports range from 80-130 with an equal ratio. May 2 had a lot more. Snoozer!
-
Way overperformed, Got to 28C/82F my point was 23!! Humidex may be even moreso, 32C forecast was 24 at most. Feels like a nice blanket of heat despite the clouds. Winds are solid - steady 40 km/h gusts to 60 estimating.
-
Was 20C at 5am this morning, nice but didn't feel it. WUN removed the storms off the hourlies HRRR 10z 12z don't show anything here, RRFS-A 9z had meaty cells popping nearby at 3pm then the line starting south of K-W.
-
Perfect wx day here, blue skies and over performed to 24C/75F once again. This is my favorite so far of the year since last Weds it was also 24 but didn't have that warm wind mid-day and its far more green too. Tomorrow on tap to be another ride with anomalous high DPs, supercell potential throughout SON (TWN is a bit aggressive), high winds. I'm eager to find out what storm mode we're getting.
-
I'm over-performing by a lot, up to 24C/75F - warmest day so far of 2025. The clouds stuck around a bit longer than I'd like til 2:30 now mostly sunny. First I've felt very warm doing activities out there too.
-
Had yet another 8am storm with loud thunder and streaks of lightning in the sky. A spicy cell moving quick to my north. This April has been nuts, based on memory I think its the most storms I've gotten in April, even more than some entire years! Also nearly the 3rd 8am storm this month. Tantalizingly 2 more days in my 10 day show storms - I'm up to 10 at least mostly from those multi round days. Harkens back to the late 90s.
-
I got slammed here too, so many waves of tstorms yesterday into this morning (5 rounds). I didn't get thunder/lightning in the morn as shown but a pouring rain, then by evening I got the boomers with the multi-cluster mode giving me an intense storm before 1am with window rattling thunder, frequent sheet lightning! Woke up at 5am to another fat cell chugging along. 5mm/.2" in a hour, got 16mm/.63" on Fri. April/WF delivers again, I probably won't get as good storms for the rest of the year starting in June . Fri was unique in a way with its bookend storms, then 67F high by 4pm with sun for a few hrs, then dark overcast agian by 6pm, with multi rounds. Should've known due to morn event with the sun coming out later it was going to be a big night!

Reached 20C/70F and is partly sunny, racing puffy clouds!! Forecast was 14C and rain
