  1. Better to be in the bull’s-eye six days out because you know it won’t hold like that.
  2. Oh’ man that’s just like Judson’s ski dorm up at Sugarloaf used to be. I had many entertaining nights at their bar with the locals. Mainers know how to get their drink on. Storing food in the snow is old school ski tradition. My brother used to have a house on the Carrabassett River and his dogs would disappear and run down the river when it was frozen and come back with all sorts of goodies from the condos upstream.
  3. Interesting. I have not seen a flake or drop here.
  4. Ya’ if it’s gon’ rain I’d rather it be warm. Nobody wants 35° rain.
  5. If you ever go up to your place via the Lakes region keep an eye out for the old Mountain Whittier site. When we go up to North Conway my kid loves driving by the McDonald’s that has the old lift tower in its parking lot. The building behind McDonald’s was the old lodge that the lift ran into and the lift actually went across the state highway!
  6. I’m sure most people on here know about this but here’s the link anyway: http://www.nelsap.org
  7. I skied Watatic as a kid when it was still open. Then did some back country out there about 10 years ago I was surprised how good the trails still were and there were a bunch of other people out there skiing.
  8. Need a good over running event.
  9. We could barely find snow yesterday up over 1000’ in Shelburne and Colrain. West not best so far this year.
  10. Lol, 30mi to your west Greenfield is at 1” for the season.
  11. Looks like a dry week coming up. Temperatures start to crawl AN again towards the end of the week.
  12. I think there were plenty of red flags at half mast last night. Weenie goggles got the best of some.
  13. To be fair, modeled 2m temps were always horrible. In SNE it was narrow bands of ideal conditions for snow in an otherwise hostile setup.
  14. Yup. Storm was potent but probably more disappointed weenies than elated weenies. Pretty good winds though, my yard is already drying out. 34/27 and gusty.
  15. Never underestimate a lousy antecedent air mass is the lesson.
  16. Congrats to all of those who got some decent accumulation. This ended up being a much narrower band of good snows then most models were presenting last night. Some of the meso models nailed the lack of snow out this way.
  17. I know, but this was not an easy forecast given the complete disaster air mass that was in place.
