    The dry air is for real. I’m finally getting better snow growth with these bands rotating in from E NY. It’s a cold snow storm.

    Has turned to full diamond dust here now. Down to 14.8F hopefully get a few more hours, would be nice to add another inch.

    It’s a little bit better than Arctic sand here but definitely smaller flakes. Coming down pretty good right now and it looks like some heavier bands might rotate in soon.

    Baking powder snow and teens make for tough driving conditions. A friend of mine just drove from Greenfield to Northampton and said 91 south is treacherous.

    How is snow growth there? Started here around 8:15 but we are only at about 1.5”. Pure baking powder. has not gotten any heavier than moderate since it started. Hopefully see a little improvement in flake size, but either way should end up with a few inches.

    It’s 19/7 here. Lots of dry air to overcome.

    There will be a sharp cutoff where 20 miles could be the difference between 6” fluff and 1”-2” arctic sand grains.

    Yeah, I think it will be icy for a bit, but hopefully not enough accretion to cause any issues.

    The timing gives them the flexibility to issue advisories in the afternoon update. They not sold on the more NE solutions yet.

    I will boldly venture a "yes" response on that, if it looks like the potential for 6"+ was imminent...

    Some of the Mesos show a sharp edge wrt the dry air intrusion. Get on the snowy side of that and maybe some good ratios.

    A swath from NYC to Hartford could get warning snows. Good times!

    There will be a 20-30mi wide stripe of 6"-8" somewhere across SNE/ENY . Fun to track. Nothing locked in yet.

    Yeah, especially for a global model close in. Could be some descent snow into much of MA.

    That was something I had not thought about or knew about. Interesting. Not really used to snows coming in at this trajectory but in my mind I was considering similar in precipitation shield to a SWFE. Meaning, it's a rare chance to be in a good zone of lift and decent precipitation here.

    We will both get accumulating snow, I will be on the edge of maybe getting several inches. Not huge, but definitely an interesting system.

    lol, I’d take but skeptical. Definitely nice to have a storm that is exciting up to go time, even though it won’t be a blockbuster. Hope everyone from NYC to parts of CNE can get accumulation.
