  1. Sneaky impressive diurnal incoming... right up there in D(T)'s mid/upper 30's were common out among homes stations across ... particularly the lower elevations/rad drainage typology, but BDL-BED-ASH were all 37 ... These places my make 72 (+ spring bust perfunctory 3 pts) this afternoon if the MET were correct - ... nice 35 to 40 point bounce! NBM is modestly cooler which I find interesting as that is both the better performing machined source, but is also in conflict synoptic leading - today really should find its way to 74... 62 up and down the interior between the coastal plain and the ORH Hill spine already as of 8:30, as is Logan and Fitchburg ... Everyone is under just about as unadulturrated pristine cerulean blue sky as can be imagined without it just fading to dark shades because one is nearing space...drowning in 100% sola. ...with 900 mb temperatures supporting 18 C ..then +4 C for lower BL slope ... 74. Low DP with zephyr velocities pointed seaward, everywhere ..just a heroin day
  2. Well whatdya know ... kept a Wed new case load < 40k with every state checking in ... I bet more people had the shits than that #.
  3. Yeah I’ve been on the ‘passive revolt’ train since the third month if this thing actually ... but vaccine came on faster than any R&D to production life cycle in history ... unprecedented actually. Sort of beat the ‘lost patience’ and familiarity breeds impetuousness to the finish line. - if this were going on indefinitely people would have thrown hands and reclaimed their air space.
  4. I understand what you're saying ...but I believe what's going on in the world transcends that trope - quite a bit actually. The proof is multi-faceted. Let's start with the biggest global influential advent in the history of humanity forcibly changing the way the previous 750,000 years of evolution instinctually taught us "how" to relate as "intrinsically .. if not dependently" socially oriented critters we are supposed to be: The INTERNET ... Your 98 year old gand pappy is right, too - btw. The problem is ... we've been living in a relative quiescence that hides the vulnerability of the assumptions to access we all enjoy, for the last 1,000 years, actually - every generation since Nero has benefited from their progenitors - at a species level advantage. It's allowed technologies ... slow at first ( needed to get more or religion and conquest out of the way) to finally arrive to an era where it could hockey-stick these dazzling means we now enjoy - realization in just the last 50 years of aspects now that are completely uncharted water as to how it will long term play a role in our evolution. It's really rather remarkable, ...we are handing off the reigns to a generation that is now in the much, much deeper end of the delusional pool. No, some work hard. Some are even good at math and can see and sense the troubled "wiring" ( pun deliberate to add some annoyance here of course ) down the road. But most do take it for granted - and frankly we have the presentt Gen X parental age, and older gens to blame - because we brought this shit to bear. These younger generations did not create that infrastructure. So, that's where we should impugn ... imho. Just imho but this is definitely a bigger problem than dismiss as prideful coot's curmudgeon from the prideful rocking perch.
  5. well...goes without ranting but ... yeah, reality check needed - and probably ...destined. Given time and the inevitable Carrington Event... or any in some real natural global normalizing catastrophes ...asteroid whatever, beyond this media made mordancy we just fled through ... Truth be told - wee bad correction events need to strike unfortunately, because we lack the built in instinctual discipline - so some hypothesis borrowing there.. Lot of bitch words there but the fact of the matter is, they can do the bold above BECAUSE the rest of us provide a framework in which that faux value-trade system can carry on. Remove the 'BECAUSE' scaffolding, the electrons stop moving on that enterprise and then not only do you have an entire 2.5 generations of bewildered entitled douchies ...they're basically e-zombies with no skills.
  6. Know what's weird ( personally..) about all this ? I've never gotten vaccinated for anything other than standard earlier childhood immunization paneling. You know ..Polio, TET ... so forth, Not sure what else is in that protocol. I think it's been expanded in recent decades to include Chx Pocks - not sure though. I know friends and some family that swear by the flu vaccine every year... Like up - time to poke. I dunno. Maybe I'm just lucky and healthy. I've had head-colds over the years. Who hasn't. Even the occasional run with the Norwalk squirts. Then, about 18 months ago...that 2019 November I got a 5 ... 6 day deal that slammed me down with a progression of symptoms that was identical to the COVID series ... BUT, because it was a month before WHO pulled the trigger on declaration of the Pandamn demic I don't get any credit? Thing is.. at that time the whole thing was so 'novel' there was still no testing sites...not really. By the time those were around, it would still be another 4 months before they started advising any thing about anti-body tests ...and even that was guess-work. Probably late last summer and autumn was when they really started to brain-trust the anti-body aspects... T and B cell memory this, and fading rates that... and by then ? No hope of getting any personal test to see if I had COVID, because it would have been too late - so was thought. I don't even know if that is still the case. Now, I took the first shot 2 weeks ago. I don't ...well, I'm not aware of having any reaction at all to it. Yet I am hearing that if you had COVID, and survived ... the dosing venture may get dicey for you. Where the hell was going with this ...oh I had always sort thought meh ... I'm not getting the flu so, why get flu shots. And that worked for me all along. But then that thing that 2019 November made me think twice ...and sort of "helped" convince me to get vaxed for this thing. But seeing as I got through that resolved, either way... I almost wish we knew at a personalized vetted level is we were actually needing vaccines. It's clear ...not all people do,... It's almost as though the whole thing was like designed to make sure we all go through this vaxing crap at least once in our lives, whether we compromise on belief or not. haha
  7. Nah... y'all should Peter Griffin the li'l bastards -
  8. See ...I dunno about that. It's all philosophical tug-o-war stuff to me. It's a matter of how these occupations are valued ? - that to me seems to be the weight of the matter. If we really need our pizza drivers to improve the quality of our life, then ... pay the f'n pizza drivers! It's that simple. If we value our teachers, to be the best and most intellectually seeding influences they can be across the ... 6 hours of the day we expose our most prized little jewels to, why the f aren't we paying them 6 figure salaries, then ? It's all smacking of hypocrisy and lies. I mean... we say we value certain things and virtue this and that, but then why doesn't society evince that value system ? In a lot of ways it is because they are full of shit ... They'd rather those funds and fun make things better for themselves. If we value something, prove it! I mean I'm not yellin' and no one here lol.. just sayn' Truth of the matter is we're still animalistic underneath all the morality conception and conceit - that's the tug-o-war. Fact of the matter is, "profit" is very animalistic ... we could Nietzsche the shit out of this subject deep into the night ....
  9. OH it hurt me to do it ... I have mid western roots and so am aware it took a political risk in naming that particular aorta-cork staple
  10. Agreed! ... ( get it ? haha "uh - greed" ) ... no but I agree on the bold - that's why I turned the phrase, " I just wonder how much of the present day ..." I mean we have a tendency to 'f that up' as a culture, and couch everything together - which becomes "racism" for quickest word frankly. It's probably not just our culture - but another in that list of "charming" capacity of human beings to do so. Curvy nubile babes that are just as "hot" as slimmer athletic babes - depending on who gets to decide ( not me like ever apparently )... and on and so forth, amid the spectrum, get unfortunately "lumped" ( oh man am I on today muah hahahaha) in with 'em during shading and shame. Tongue-in-cheek aside... yeah, there are cankled government doled pap suckers toting so much mass they show up in satellite gravitational field surveys .. okay. If they have a thyroid condition than so be it... but, we see enough of these incredible celeb shrinking stories ... or 'reality' t.v. this or that where they take these massive individuals and send us along their sagas en route to societal acceptance ... to know that those with true medical conditions are probably rarer.
  11. There are rotund women painted on cave walls from fading antiquity ... when there were nutritional dearths in general as the ambient ecologically balanced human model of the times when those ulterior factors controlled population. Question, were those walking amongst them ...? Or was that just always idealized utopic sex partners by artists of that prehistoric era - I mean "fat" people have always been around, or have they?? I just wonder how much of the present day veritable anathema toward people of, shall we say exuberant deviation from mainstream idealized physique, is based on faux impression of the human genomic aspect and should be understood that there are "fat dogs and skinny dogs" in any mammalian species - maybe more deviation in humans, granted. Some dudes and gals may actually like rotund proportioned mates. This skews the variation "reason" there.. We select mates based on a broader canvas of aesthetics ( to our personal tastes) then do dogs - which are based entirely on smelling whether or not she's ready to go... In humans, those "gig boned" gene's ( to put it nicely), those will therefore survive into the next generation ...and on and so on - however hard it may be to visualize the couple actually succeeding in the act, aside. Admittedly, there are more mid-sized individuals making up the ballast of our gene pool, and then when you take that interquartile mass of the species ... then, subject them to less organized mass-provisional advantages ... you'll end up with thinner folk. Opposite, if you send that same population down the modern convenient addled hog-trough of Americanas thoroughfares, where medicine picks up the slack of lack of exercise, and no one is more than a country mile from a Big Mac or sausage gravy and biscuit snack I also think there is a kind of 'bad taste' - no pun intended - abstract or emerging sensibility about weight, as it may be based on how environmental awareness is beginning to look egregious to be so when the latter is happening. It costs the environment, dearly ... to keep a bloating population ...well, bloated. It's like unconsciously we start to 'fashion' lean svelte "low maintenance" looks as part of our 'virtue signaling' ... just a thought -
  12. Nice ... not surprising tho based on what we're discussing/seeing here... Btw, that's getting closer to an impressive ridged out solution by the GFS. Perhaps caving into its ensemble mean -PNA Just looking at that 500 mb height evolution from D5 right out the end of the run. I mean knowing the GFS' abiding lotion and kleenex affinity for cold, it will undoubtedly find least excuse imagined not to warm up the lower troposhere ... so why bother looking at the surface. But, that may be your over all CAPEd ambience .
  13. You guys should see that movie "I, Robot" ... Getting a bit dated now - I think 2004, but it was really fantastically done. Sleek and sterile matte, just like robotics, but with one robot that sprouts a 'soul' - sort of ... It's a revamp on the Azymov science fiction of the same name ..which I have not read. I haven't heard/seen any comparatives but I really enjoyed that film. Will Smith stars along with some other familiars C and B listers... Then there is Sunny, played by the "Resident Alien" ( voice over ) found on I think on "Prime," Alan Tudyk - But they cover that 'freaked me out' aspect about the futuristic culture of robotics along with lots of other interesting socio-technological visualizations of a future that is highly mecahnized and "convenient" ... it's pretty cool.
  14. You guys burn mill-work lumber for pot ash ? Okay ... but some chemicals don't incinerate, or effuse away in smoke either and will stay behind. Especially that piece in the lower left corner of the rubble; that looks like layered panel board - go ahead.... "fertilize" your cucumbers
  15. Depends what we mean by hot "IF" we want to really run with that hypothesis ... I mean yeah .. we've observed some weird 70+ days beginning in February.. But this was consistent with the likes of the last 4 years when that oddity tendency began ... Yet, last spring and the one before ...and the one before, and the one before... etc, all featured cold and snow or snow supporting atmospheres ... late March through mid Mays, similar to this year, and those springs did not flower nearly this robustly. That seems to remove "heat" as an outright culprit. I don't speak for all regions/climate zones... just what we're noticing around town and other areas of this part of Mass. I have buddies with yards from NW RI to southern NH and they're all saying the Lilacs are like flower bombs. Not meaning to be heavy handed ... lol, I mean florists shops keep their blooms chilled for a reason. There's certainly a logic to that. But it seems it hasn't been altogether "hot" in that sense where we are.
  16. And to go along with those lofty T1 temperatures ( 980 mb at Logan ) on the 12z NAM FOUS ... the MET machine numbers now 77 Friday at FIT- ASH .. BED up here along the Rt 2. Actually similar numbers PSM/MHT/CON... As far as I can tell, that's probably pure sun until CU detonation ... light wind and just pure unadulterated balm.
  17. Anecdotally ... we've been noticing that just about anything that can flower in/do to spring re-awakening has done so much more robustly than recent years, this time. From maple floweretts to Lilac shrubbery ...all these are gracing us with utopic visual displays and aromatic splendor like we've landed on a new Pandora this season. Not sure what it is...but we've been speculating that maybe the air is purer from the recent years 30 someodd % reduction in Industrial farts all over the planet. We've noticed many more prism clarity blue skies when not raining ..with far less of that pall sort of muted color vibe. Well .... like today. It's particularly sharp edged shadows out there with nape-bake pretty much off the scale. And contrary to drought mongering ... we are not really in too bad off of shape in top/root soil moisture. Anyway, this might lend to increased pollen production ?? just a thought - also, we are seeing more honey bees - that's a great sign.
  18. Probably should point out ... this is all predicated on the silly assumption that the NAM's 48 - 60 hour handling of ass wiping can ever be done correctly ... let alone what it is designed for... just so we're clear. Still, because the global runs ( Euro ...GGEM ...etc..) have that lingering cyclonic curvature ... staggered back mid-level cool pool aspect ...it does offer some hope for crispy edged TCU. The NAM may just be going over-board in the particulars relative to that overall aspect. Frid-Sunday afternoons..... and this run just being the first of them three days. That said, if this run's metrics played out ... I wouldn't focus on needing idealized mechanics, not when the lapse rates get that volatile. That's getting into butterfly fart sensitivity there. Granted, we're not talking about cotton swab explosions on high res vis satellite loops here. Just whether there's some picturesque golf cart zappers here and there.
  19. Look at these numbers (NAM FOUS) for Logan Friday during the day ... That d(t) ( vertical lapse rate) = 19 C between 980 mb at 800 mb level!! C'mon...that's like the inside an a-bomb mushroom cloud. The 51 and 55 on the far left is the R2 sigma level, which I believe is the 700 mb ...showing a slight elevation > 50% relative humidity so the model is seeing cloud contamination in the lifted LCL ... The LIs are listed here too ( just not bold) also, down to 1 ...so modestly unstable. But suspect that's only 'modest' because this is missing substantive DP. The lapse rate here is impressive - I'm a fan of lapse rate. Meanwhile, that 45 and 46 spelled out is the 545 and 546 dm thickness. So, this NAM run has a 20 C (980 ...which is probably about 24 or even 25 in the 2-meter on a WNW katabatic flow) under 545 thickness, with a 800 mb of 1 ?? uh... yeah I bet this has an few over achieving TCU dappled about the open terrain over land ... 54000355123 -1701 213005 45 201101 60000345521 01901 213205 46 201201
  20. Heh... ur funny - just say modest instability cumulonimbi ... but you gotta get the word 'hail' in there. lol -
  21. Far as my irrelevant perspective goes ... this is the fourth winter in a row, where the pith of winter was damped by velocity surplus and not allowed to do much other than watch raging balanced geostrophic wind speeds rip and shear and suppress ( not the same as a 'suppressed flow' in this context) development. There were perhaps exceptions to that general theme ... but speaking in the context of by and large - When the flow relaxed at either ends ? we got amplitude and Oct - early Dec events ...as well as unwanted cold spring ones - relative to personal preference ... I mean I realize there are those that think its reasonable to snow in April but that's your problem LOL. No but the seasonal lag is memoed in environmental science et al at this point, and is to those with objective observation not filtering reality through a want for snow and winter lens ... is real. Any next year's seasonal outlook had better be heavily referencing, if not factoring, this obviously GW/ CC - attributable aspect or nothing in said outlook is worth used toilet paper.
  22. Also, ... some lingering 500 mb lag cyclonic curvature Fri-Sun, with 74 underneath high sun ... I am noticing some QPF speckles 18z over land them days - maybe we can pop corn
  23. Reads like everyone's greened(ing) up well enough as it is... but, between the Euro's better fit for the -PNA hemisphere, and the National Blend machine guidance et al, it looks like we are in for several back to back days of west trajectory, under fairly low RH ceilings under 900 mbs Ts supporting 71 to 77 F ( before applying spikes..) to afternoons. Lows probably 48 to 54. That should "broaden" the broad aspect of the maple leaves ... change the misty virgin greens of the hill fascia into more of that deeper darker lush hue. That extended range 80s the Euro hinted at for several recent cycles may not transpire - or it may yet... but, at least we should get some sort of short sleever afternoons through the period. Seems to be a tussle in the models between the -PNA hemisphere wending the westerly synoptic construct underneath this propensity to keep re-introducing blocking pieces of useless shit turds above it... ( how do I really feel though ? ) ... The flow is getting more nebular above the HC interface out there in time, tho - seems it's just as likely that Maritime trough idea ...pulsing in and out of relevancy deepening on guidance source and cycle, could be either more or less inhibiting...
