  1. I think it's fair to say most are here for the snow. Even with that general forecast that matches strong Niños, many of those Niños had snow during warm months. I think it’s also fair to say that decent winter show themselves by now taking into consideration the date and forecasts for the next 10 days. If we're honest, this winter fails to have any characteristics of a decent/snowy winter. Using Bwi as my benchmark, if we/they fail the rest of January, which I would define as 2":or less for them and 4" or less here, we're looking at 94/95 and 97/98 as a viable strong Niño options. I'll stop right there.
  2. I was wondering when you would get to that. Lol Geps and Gefs both have a weak, if there is such a thing, split.
  3. There are more cutters on today's model runs than at a f@rt festival.
  4. You may have a legit shot for the event on the 16 or 17, but I put my odds of seeing a 4"+ event (with or without a mix or change to rain) at 20% tops. I can see the writing on the wall based on prior years of following winter wx in the area, 1972-present. January is looking like a whole lot of threats and not a lot of substantial hits, if any; how I hope I'm wrong. February may be different, but it's too early to say.
  5. Euro is as bad as the rest in the medium range. Top is 0z and bottom is 12z. That is horrific performance by allegedly the best model on earth.
  6. At 162 hrs, Euro looks more like the 12z Gfs than the 0z Euro at 174hrs. I'll assume that's not good until the rest of the run proves otherwise.
  7. Gfs operational looks like doo-doo, but there's a decent Gefs signal for the storm the Euro showed on 0z run. 24hr snowfall attached. Of course, the way things have gone over the last 2 years, Euro will probably pull it on 12z. Lol
  8. Icon getting agressive with the cold if not the snow in the medium range. The cold is still moving east, yet to reach the coast, and is a 1pm map too.
  9. Lake at Codorus may finally getting to near normal levels, but it has a long way to go the last time I looked.
  10. Fyi, I hate strong winds no matter the season. Stay safe.
  11. Yep. We've lost them and clippers. On a different note, there's no doubt that had the Icon gone out further than 120 at 18z, it would have shown some reasonable front end snow to mix then rain.
  12. I did see it, but it was like reliving a ptsd moment, so I just closed my eyes and shook a little.
  13. This hit? https://www.pasadenavoice.com/stories/browns-toyota-president-john-stefero-recalls-his-days-as-an-orioles-catcher,14152
  14. If you recall, Rick Dempsey got hurt and they brought up John Stefero as catcher. He was a year behind me at Mt. St. Joe high school. He ended up my neighbor back in MD. I told him he was the luckiest baseball player ever getting called up his first year and winning the World Series. He's been the manager at the Toyota dealership (formerly Brown's now Stafford Brown's) for 20+ years in Glen Burnie.
  15. Believe me, it ain't easy. Luckily, I had a lot of experience on typewriters first. In fact, I still have an IBM Wheelwriter 5 typewriter I bought in 1984 for about $850. It was one of, if not the first, typewriter with memory. I had 2 minor repairs to it in 40 years and it still works perfectly. I want it in my coffin with me just in case I need to write home.
  16. I'm older than you and I finished law school in 83. But 83 is, in my mind, the best year for 80's music. I've played the guitar since 73, so most of the music I liked and listened to was guitar-centric. But the 80's, 83 in particular and early 80's in general, had the best melodic, catchy songs imho. Get the MTV Best of 1983 2 CD (or whatever as it was originally sold as a double cassette) to see what I mean.
  17. I'm not in to severe weather. But between the high wind threat and disappointing snowfall, I had a lifetime of that in MD. I was hoping to do better up here but all I got was central MD weather and sleepy drivers.
  18. How much snow did you get up there before the changeover? You're only like 20-25 minutes north of mby.
  19. And I moved to PA for this and snow that changes over to sleet and rain before guidance says it will? Ughh Get me back to MD where people at least drive over the speed limit.
  20. I know. There's a triffic cam on the next hill north from him on 94 just before the MD line and around 6 or 7 miles south of me as the crow flies. I could see that location was doing worse than me and Westminster traffic cam showed they had sleet. I knew I was toast at that point.
  21. You missed last night's 0z Icon for next weekend.
  22. I was drinking heavier at the time than you.
