  1. Icon getting agressive with the cold if not the snow in the medium range. The cold is still moving east, yet to reach the coast, and is a 1pm map too.
  2. Lake at Codorus may finally getting to near normal levels, but it has a long way to go the last time I looked.
  3. Fyi, I hate strong winds no matter the season. Stay safe.
  4. Yep. We've lost them and clippers. On a different note, there's no doubt that had the Icon gone out further than 120 at 18z, it would have shown some reasonable front end snow to mix then rain.
  5. I did see it, but it was like reliving a ptsd moment, so I just closed my eyes and shook a little.
  6. This hit? https://www.pasadenavoice.com/stories/browns-toyota-president-john-stefero-recalls-his-days-as-an-orioles-catcher,14152
  7. If you recall, Rick Dempsey got hurt and they brought up John Stefero as catcher. He was a year behind me at Mt. St. Joe high school. He ended up my neighbor back in MD. I told him he was the luckiest baseball player ever getting called up his first year and winning the World Series. He's been the manager at the Toyota dealership (formerly Brown's now Stafford Brown's) for 20+ years in Glen Burnie.
  8. Believe me, it ain't easy. Luckily, I had a lot of experience on typewriters first. In fact, I still have an IBM Wheelwriter 5 typewriter I bought in 1984 for about $850. It was one of, if not the first, typewriter with memory. I had 2 minor repairs to it in 40 years and it still works perfectly. I want it in my coffin with me just in case I need to write home.
  9. I'm older than you and I finished law school in 83. But 83 is, in my mind, the best year for 80's music. I've played the guitar since 73, so most of the music I liked and listened to was guitar-centric. But the 80's, 83 in particular and early 80's in general, had the best melodic, catchy songs imho. Get the MTV Best of 1983 2 CD (or whatever as it was originally sold as a double cassette) to see what I mean.
  10. I'm not in to severe weather. But between the high wind threat and disappointing snowfall, I had a lifetime of that in MD. I was hoping to do better up here but all I got was central MD weather and sleepy drivers.
  11. How much snow did you get up there before the changeover? You're only like 20-25 minutes north of mby.
  12. And I moved to PA for this and snow that changes over to sleet and rain before guidance says it will? Ughh Get me back to MD where people at least drive over the speed limit.
  13. I know. There's a triffic cam on the next hill north from him on 94 just before the MD line and around 6 or 7 miles south of me as the crow flies. I could see that location was doing worse than me and Westminster traffic cam showed they had sleet. I knew I was toast at that point.
  14. You missed last night's 0z Icon for next weekend.
  15. I was drinking heavier at the time than you.
  16. Yeah, he knew is stuff. My recollection is he wasn't a prolific poster, but always had great ones when he did.
  17. I happened to have a pm with Jack and found out he was from my hometown of Glen Burnie, MD He was just a typical, nasty redneck that place had an overabundance of and arguably still does. Lol.
  18. That guy Jack tormented Joe Bartlo for no reason other than he could do it. Poor Joe was harmless. If anyone had a problem, I wouldn't have voted Joe as the one with it.
  19. Dt was a piece of work on ne.weather. Fortunately, I knew what I was dealing with and his twisted humor and raw sarcasm. So I never had a problem with him and enjoyed his posts and knowledge. The key was after you inadvertently triggered him, just stay quiet. Lol
  20. Thing is, I hear a lot of people saying the Euro has superior thermals due to higher resolution. Idk, I firmly believe they tweaked the Euro to its death as we all knew it.
  21. ne.weather is still available to seach, but it looks like posting ends next month. It became a real terlet of humanity. Lol https://groups.google.com/g/ne.weather?pli=1
  22. Yes, I was tracking it on ne.weather with Stormtracker. You were there too at that time too if I recall. My recollection is that all modeling was keying on a different vort max that was to come 2 days later. But the problem with that storm was missing data along the SE coast. When they got that ingested into the 0z 1/25/00 runs, everything caved to what me, Stormtracker, and every other weenie believed earlier in the day...it was coming north for a hit.
  23. I witcha'. I don't care what 500mb statistics show, the Euro pre-2018 update was a superior model than what we have now of all modeling.
  24. I said to my wife earlier that had the extended period of sleet been snow (recall you posted that you were surprised by the sleet), and then we turned to rain as progged, the models would have been very good. All of them but the Nams missed an apparent thin layer of warming that caused the sleet.
