  1. That hook got quite intense right around the Sagtikos/Southern State, if there was a tornado it would’ve been there.
  2. Radar estimating about 1.4” for me so far and 2” in N Nassau.
  3. That rotation looks pronounced right over Deer Park. Wonder if there are any funnel cloud sightings.
  4. The LIE must be…. fun around the Rt 231 exit right now.
  5. I’m quite surprised there’s no tornado warning on it. Definitely looks like some rotation near E Farmingdale.
  6. There must be some decent sized hail in that core near the LIE about to cross into Melville. Enough to cause some damage. Same here though-heavy rain with a few 20 mph or so gusts.
  7. Some rotation near Hicksville/Levittown? Also definitely a hail core over Jericho.
  8. Some hail possible near Brookville now. Absolute torrent here.
  9. It’s south shore drought season. Looking like maybe they can make it to the L.I.E. but probably tough south of there.
  10. Looks like something decent may actually make it here. Rumbles of thunder, heavy rain along 25A in Nassau.
  11. Rich get richer. 91 here with awful humidity.
  12. Yep, feels disgusting outside. Hopefully we can get something to fire near the coast and not just NJ and places away. Rain is definitely needed here.
  13. 98-99 at several stations around N Hempstead, Uniondale, Mineola.
  14. 95 at my closest station.
  15. Places south of the sea breeze front are still in the low-mid 90s in Nassau/W Suffolk. Yikes. Even Long Beach is in the upper 80s.
  16. It’s brutal outside today but I wonder if the PWS dew points can be biased too high. The airport dew points are in the upper 60s not the low to mid 70s the PWS seems to have. The seabreeze will definitely kick up the humidity though so we might cut 3-5 degrees off the temp but add 3-5 degrees to the dewpoint in places more than a few miles from the beaches.
  17. Around 80 now on Fire Island/Captree. May not have gotten too hot there in the first place but as the breeze kicks up it will cool down more further north.
  18. The record 2014 Islip deluge was a summer warm front.
  19. Looks like more widespread convection will be coming tomorrow and Monday. We'll see what happens.
  20. Yeah, I probably spoke too soon with the coastal drought. Very difficult if not impossible to get anything more than a short lived dry spell here these days. Florida here we come.
  21. Decent downpour here for 10 minutes or so. Lawns need it.
  22. If the sea breeze holds off and isn't too strong, we'll easily make it to the high 90s up here. And it will be more brutal than anywhere-we get the heat plus the humidity. On that map at least NJ's dewpoints will stay in the 60s. On another note, argh about the storms yet again. Huntington village/Halesite getting nailed, maybe a drop or two here.
