  1. Close but nada. High 76, 73 now.
  2. Thanks so much for replying to me with these recs! Will check em out. Apologies for the late response.
  3. About a tenth. 50 degrees and starting to clear.
  4. AFD was amended for "pesky low clouds near northeastern MD through midday". It's been thick. Just got a glimpse of sun.
  5. 62. Socked in still.
  6. It's reached the point in leaf-out where the breeze sounds different. With the temps, very summery vibe.
  7. High of 86. Starting to acclimate to activity in the heat more now. I was feeling underpowered.
  8. 75 by the bay. The mesonet station a bit inland in Abingdon* at 81. *called Edgewood but firmly in Abingdon
  9. About 0.10" rain last night. Little too far south. High of 82. 68 now.
  10. Thanks for the tips! I'm looking at the association pathways map now. I had not grasped how much there is. Checking out these trails could keep me busy haha. First glance, the ones near the golf club(s) and Middle Patuxent Env Area look interesting...Patuxent Branch Trail does too. Def have to get to Centennial, I think that one's mandatory.
  11. Columbia area people: do you have any favorite local walking, hiking, maximizing nature/minimizing people spots? I've been spending a lot of time visiting my elderly dad there, and he walks and drives and does stuff, but most of the time he's indoors. There's not much of a yard and I need some go-to, close by spots to hike or chill outside for an hour or two when it's glorious out! Patapsco is great but a bit far. Over the winter I discovered paths in the immediate neighborhood and walked around some of Wilde Lake and Kittamaqundi. My folks moved to Columbia a long time ago from Balt. Co. but most of what I've done there is just go to their house and out to eat! Thanks for any recs.
  12. Forgot to add mine. 12/5-12-6: 1" 12/13-12/14: 3" 1/1: 0.2" 1/17: 0.5" 1/25: 10" 2/22-23: 3" Total: 17.7"
  13. A fox just walked past my house with a fish in his/her mouth. Then headed down the street and into some woods. I wonder if there are kits. Idk if the fish was a catch or a find...but I want it to be a catch because that's much cooler. Looked fresh to me and intact.
  14. I escaped the wedge around 1 pm. Damp and cool when I got in the car at home...sunny and glorious when I got out in College Park.
  15. Better round came through around 11-midnight with thunder and lightning. A little over half inch rain since yesterday.
  16. A rumble or two earlier. Just a gentle rain at present. The breeze coming in the windows smells good. High of 85 today. More clouds than sun made it a good afternoon for yard/garden cleanup.
  17. Good week for temp gradient weenies
  18. Sun finally visible under the clouds, instant blinding sunset
  19. Excellent content, thank you for your service. Looks a bit like the Matterhorn
  20. Just got back from a hike in the woods locally. Low 60s. 10/10 March day! I walk in these woods nearly every day and today is it - first green up is happening.
  21. Yes, same. Genuine excitement. For Roger, it was definitely not just "an imby sport".
