E PA/NJ/DE Spring 2023 OBS Thread
mattinpa replied to Hurricane Agnes's topic in Philadelphia Region
At least we end this miserable winter having multiple chances. But I am not getting excited until one makes it under 5 days out on multiple models. -

Thanks for the PBP. Still not out of time yet. Loving the analysis in this forum. -

That would be about the only thing that would prevent this winter from being an F. Hopefully tonight’s runs see something. -

Some sleet but mostly wet here. -

Look better? I am watching for tomorrow and the periods around the 4th and 10th and if nothing by then, just moving into spring mode. -
Any big threats still on the models? Have not had a chance to check.

I feel a little better but still not good yet in this “winter.” -

Agreed. Just would be nice to see some real winter outside of a couple days at Christmas. -
Well we just can”t stop this progression of every storm to the GL, which is frustrating. So it looks bleak. But I will keep following in case of a surprise storm.
-
Nice to look at even if fantasy. This would make the winter for sure. March is supposed to be colder but we’ll see.

10 day storm still showing up but far from a certainty to get snow. -

Too far out to say one way or the other, but in this winter, I can see a show me attitude. -
I see what you mean, but I now just wish it would feel like winter sometimes.
-
Maybe declaring winter over is what we needed.
-
Well it is certainly too far away to give up on it. But yes, we like when the GFS is south - and I hope if it comes back that we get more support. I remember the GFS being right while alone more with bad outcomes.
-
It really develops the coastal for next weekend
-
Thanks. Explains things well for why there could be some (if not a lot of) chance for a snow event.
-
Any chance we get colder than the 40s that are predicted? The projected temps would give a cold rain. But yes might as well watch it. It would be gone quickly also, but any event this winter is a big thing.
-
February having 28 days in non leap years always bothered me. Yes there are 31 days in Dec and Jan - but Dec is not our peak snow season.
-
I do. Though I tend to be optimistic.
-
Hi Don - how long do you see the February warmup lasting and do you think there will be one more chance before spring? (like in late Feb or March)
-
Same with me. I know we need rain, but I wish we did not. Hate thunderstorms even more.

So that’s what snow looks like! Moderate snow that looks pretty. Just a dusting so far. -
In most winters, there is something even if minor. So chances are something will surprise.
-
At least it is the GFS and shows a suppressed system. Things have been correcting more north - too north and west in fact.
