With 0% chance now of sustaining a snowpack and the extended looking seasonable and dry, give me an early spring. This two week winter was not one to remember.
No snow for Christmas or New Years and a virtually snowless December, combined with a winter hiatus with a 2-3 week torch during the dead of winter leaves me staring down the barrel of another F winter. This decade of the 2020s has featured some very lackluster winters.
Today had a very March feel to it muddy, cloudy and windy with temps in the 40’s. Kind of don’t want the winter pattern to reload around Valentines Day, towards the end of February my body is craving spring.
Snowpack was obliterated quickly here, down to patches and 95% bare ground. After a virtually snowless December, and a torch the next two weeks, I say let’s turn the page to spring.
and then the dreaded sun angle talks ramp up by mid February. Fun stretch for Strong El Niño standards, but nothing crazy. I would be totally fine punting the rest of the winter.
Winter looks to go on hiatus until at least the first week of February. Already have 50’s popping in my forecast for late January/early February. Curious to see how the pattern unfolds later into February.
Looks zzz for the foreseeable future. May very well be rolling into the latter part of January with 3.5” of snow and roughly 24 hours of snowcover. Just brutal luck.
