  1. Coming from a frontline a job: grocery supplier to the Midwest. We are absolutely tired. Things seem totally surreal right now to us. I just pulled another 16 hour shift, 60 hours this week, and yes I have another 16 hour shift tomorrow, so putting my total at 76 hours. some of us broke down and cried today out of frustration and anger, the work and product billing overload just doesn’t stop. Many of us finally had to tap out and go home. To all the essential jobs staying open, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
  2. Rainy gloomy day, was a good day to stay home not that many of us had a choice anyway. With all the craziness, my mind has sort of faded and just realized we are heading into April already. I am ready for morels, crappie filets, and thunderstorms.
  3. A malaria drug from the 1940’s is having good results, but what kind of side effects will this bring? And to the people hanging out at the beach in Florida, good job, you just spread the virus more.
  4. Thank you for your kind words, and everyone’s at this point.
  5. New York reported 1,800 new cases since yesterday. Eagerly awaiting Italy’s numbers to roll in.
  6. Finally off work, clocked out today with 44 hours already lol. Very thankful for a day off tomorrow, I am so wiped out, just grabbed me a dominos pizza on the way home, cooking was the last thing I wanted to do. Whats going on in Italy is truly horrifying, and even under constant quarantine, cases spreading like wildfire. Be kind, check on your neighbor, and stay positive everyone! As for now, I am heading to bed, really looking forward to this 8-10 hours of sleep.
  7. Appreciate everyone kind words during this hard time, especially during our line of work. Not one to fish for sympathy, but after being treated like crap throughout the past week, it’s imperative to get some positive feedback. To anyone worried about any food shortage, I promise you We are working around the clock to make sure food is going straight from warehouse to your home.
  8. Just pulled another 16 hour shift.already at 31 hours for the week.
  9. Our whole warehouse is exhausted, we are completely exhausted, we are working around the clock to make sure product is getting shipped. I’m on OT and lots of it making $33 an hour. Be kind to the people making sure your shelves are stocked, it’s crazy guys. I just pulled another 16 hour shift.
  10. Confirmed corona in Champaign now, Carle hospital awaiting testing of additional 50 patients right now.
  11. Joe Rogan has a podcast where he has a medical expert on as a guest.. he said the thought that this virus just goes away with the season change is absolutely false.
  12. I work for a warehouse that supplies groceries to surrounding stores, we are heading into mandatory 16 hour shifts right now. J.B. pritzker ordered all schools closed through the end of the month. My grandmother is 85 and confirmed she’s never seen the world in this panic.
  13. Same thing started for me Sunday evening. 103 fever, body aches, congested, nausea, chills. Finally ditched the fever yesterday. Had to burn 3 sick days this week.
  14. 12” and 40mph winds, “nice little event” nice flex bo!
  15. Just had a flash of lightning here. Also woke up with the flu at midnight, man I hate this crap. The spring itch is in full force, and so is the desire for that first severe thunderstorm warning.
  16. Just tagged 60 here. With the CPC outlook forecasting above normal temps, I put in for a vacation next week. Going to take advantage of some early spring weather.
  17. 55 in my forecast today, and by Thursday 60 and sunny. A1 burgers going on the grill tonight. Happy met spring everyone.
  18. Insane. Really puts into perspective just how mild of a winter this really was. My dad who lives 45 minutes SE of Champaign recorded 11.3” on the season. This winter really was 2011-2012 all over again.
  19. Maintaining any kind of snowpack this winter has been nearly impossible. My longest snowcover this winter was 5 days. The 1.7” that fell yesterday is all but nuked from the late February sun.
  20. I’m ready for longer days, more sun, warmer weather, boomers, and grilling. Just 10 more days and the days get longer. Hallelujah! That being said, looks like I’m going to string together some 50’s to open the month. Bring it on!
  21. Finished with 1.7” here, snow never really stuck to the pavement. We are now at 15.7” on the season and have done so with literally 1-2” snowfalls.
  22. Good luck on the move. South Carolina is a beautiful state. In fact my family and I almost relocated there back in 2006-2007.
  23. Yep same here. I would be fine being done with snow for the rest of the season, wouldn’t want to stat pad what has been a miserable winter for most.
  24. Mid February sun doing work. Only 32 outside, but melting is occurring.
