  1. Been an eventful last 5 days here, between the 1/4” of ice on New Year’s Day, the overperformer on Saturday, and hoar frost/freezing fog all day today. Fun stretch, that’s for sure.
  2. My morning walk was awesome. The hoar frost was breathtaking.
  3. Haha I agree. Central Illinois deserved this storm! It’s breathtaking outside.
  4. Can confirm the Cisco report. My buddy just drove to Cisco and measured 9.7”
  5. I have a friend in Monticello, I’ll confirm this report in the morning. I live 2 miles south of Champaign, and it absolutely ripped here. It’s stunning outside, the snow caked to the trees, can’t wait to take pics when the sun comes up. judging from window peeping I’d say we got 4-4.5”. A fresh snowfall, and sipping morning coffee is pure tranquility to me. 2021 already proving to be a better year, with a extreme over performer!
  6. Moderate freezing rain in Chambana, with heavier precip moving in, winds are howling as well. Roads are a complete disaster, and I just had to crawl out to my garage, like a dummy I left my ice melt out there. Be safe everyone.
  7. Enjoy your storm guys. Maybe central Illinois and central Indiana will get our storm in January. It’s really hard not to get discouraged sometimes. We definitely deserve one. Should be a good 2-3” soaker for us though. That’s fun?
  8. After missing out another winter storm later this week, I’m in full punt mode on this winter. Im closing in on 6 years since my last 6”+ snowfall. I want an early spring, and a nice summer.
  9. It’s only been 5+ years since my last 6” snowfall, would hate to ruin the streak. Potential is there for a big hit for someone, unfortunately for now appears to be a rainer here.
  10. 1/3 of winter already ruined and wasted. Don’t worry folks, March and April will have our back. A common theme the last few years, unfortunately.
  11. How horrible have things been here locally you might ask? Today is the first time that more than a T has been on the ground since FEBRUARY 27.
  12. Light snow continues to fall, nothing better than a fresh snowy landscape. Going to enjoy the scenery, sip some new IPAs later, and play PS5.
  13. Went straight to pound town and got 0.7” and should be the biggest event of December lol. Low 50’s on tap early next week, and potential Christmas cold/snow? Either way, feels good to finally be on the board. Albeit a very benign 0.7”.
  14. Officially still sitting at 0.0” for the season, and nothing for the foreseeable future, a turd sandwich of a start that’s for sure. Hey at least Santa blessed me with a PS5! Located one at my my local Walmart Sunday night. So happy to get my hands on one.
  15. My son is in pre-K and goes to a private academy, Champaign county just urged ALL elementary schools to close until January. So far his school remains open. My brothers kids go to a separate school (1st, 3rd grade) they just received emails they are remote now until January.
  16. Severe drought conditions popping just to my west, and another extended period of dry/seasonal coming up. Really not liking this pattern shaping up for the winter.
  17. Sitting at 0.90” for the month of August. It has turned very dry here lately.
  18. I was getting ready to edit my post and tag you, because I remember we were sick the exact same time. I’m about 85% sure I had COVID-19 then. My company actually is giving everyone 10% bonus on every pay check until 12/31/20 for working during the pandemic.
  19. Champaign got clobbered yesterday, 60mph winds, 1.5” hail, over 2” of rain. Unfortunately I was 20 miles south visiting family and missed out on the main event. Bummer.
  20. I am fairly certain I had this virus back around mid March. I awoke one morning around 2AM with a 101 fever and body aches that honestly felt like they were in every crevice of my body. Day two featured one of the most horrendous headaches I’ve ever experienced in my life, like someone took a sledgehammer to my skull, with extreme dizziness, fever lingered as well. Day three featured a horrible headache once again, dizziness, coughing, chills. My cough lingered for two weeks after that. Whatever it was, I’m fairly certain was not the flu, as I never had diarrhea or vomiting.
