    Just went for a cruise in rural Champaign. The N-S are roads are becoming drifted with blowing snow very quickly. Winds gusting over 30MPH as the arctic air moves in.

    Had a period of slop, but temps have warmed to 35 degrees and all rain here. Warming to about 40 degrees, probably wiping out the “snowpack” we had. We’ve struggled keeping any snow on the ground this winter.

    Never have I seen getting to 6.8” on the year in such an abysmal way. Literally 1/2-1.5” snowfalls lol.

    Yeah no snow cover virtually all winter has allowed us to warm up substantially. Yesterday forecasted high was 5 degrees warmer than forecasted. It felt so nice, and really gave me the spring itch.

    Henry Margusity tweeted earlier that winter will be active for the next 2-3 weeks, and then an early spring this year. I’m down for that.

    Broke the record of 57 today.

    January finished 6.9 degrees above normal, and with a terrible 1.5” snowfall.

    52 in Champaign. Should make a run at 60. Would honestly be fine if this “winter” was done and we blowtorched our way to spring.

    Will finish the month with 1.2” snowfall. 0.7” fell on Halloween. Let that sink in.

    Been a hostile location since the legendary winter of 2013-2014. Winters have sucked here since.

    My rainer call was $. Heading into February with less than 6” on the season. Did have some on again off again freezing rain.

    Gonna be the first to bring this up, but as far as temps and snowfall, this winter has rivaled 2011-2012 in terms of suckiness.

    Go ahead and pencil in a rainer for next weekend system, let’s follow the trend of weekend flood advisories. Euro ensembles agree as well.
