    Nice heavy soaker rolled over. Lots of lightning and thunder but nothing severe here imby even the storm was warned.

    The last ENSO probs I saw from a few days ago were 55% neutral, 30% La Nina, 15% El Nino for DJF with increasing neutral odds for JFM. The oceans are odd right now with a lot of BN and AN that basically are blotchy across the basins. So at least the oceans aren't a rampaging torchfest any more and the La Nina did work in taking away a ton of that stored heat.

    I'm not sure what we will see winter wise but I do know that we've rarely had one cold/snowy/icy without having another one or two after it over the last twenty or thirty years. For that reason alone I wouldn't be surprised to see a fairly wintry pattern at times during D-M. I do know that while I enjoy most forms of cold/freezing weather, day after day of freezing fog and freezing drizzle is something I'd rather not see again any time soon. It profoundly changed the shape of the tree canopy here.

    Another cool morning, dropped the temp in the house down so much my A/C didn't kick on until about 3:45 this afternoon.

    Have my motion camera out behind my house a little ways down in a dip along side the creek trying to get pictures of a bear that's been in the area. It apparently gets chilly in that dip. It was 46 at 1am last night when that blob (it's a raccoon) set the camera off.

    53 this morning and only 71 right now. I'll order more of that for July but won't expect it back until September.

    I ended up with around 5 and a half inches of rain over the course of the week. Rainy, but nothing like last year or the year before when I was having a 3-4+ inch rain event every few days. Still we have had historic floods 4 times in the past 30 months. That's due to having the rainiest years in the last 100 years or so back to back.

    Thought it might be a day without rain today, I was wrong. Looks like more tomorrow then it will finally dry out for a few days.

    I'm 1000 percent in support of lower humidity. The air sweats it's so humid. The entire week it's been 85% or higher and often 100%. It's 94 percent as I type this.

    2.36 inches of rain since Sunday after a very heavy overnight shower. Looks like quite a bit more to go this week.

    Trying to avoid running my heat, it is 56 again this afternoon and down to 66 in the house. Will likely ring in Memorial day with it on with mid 40s or low 40s possible tonight.

    Ended up with 1.61 inches of rain from this. The cool couple of days will keep it from baking out too.

    Had some nice rains already today and the main event is still on the way. Forecast for tomorrow is amazing for nearly June. Mid 60s and mid 40s.

    Actually had some rain a few minutes ago. Not a lot but enough to wet the ground.

    Still not been terrible temp wise. Nights are in the low to mid 50s because the air is so dry and we have just been a touch over 80 today with around 79 the prior two days. Looks to get hotter over the next 3-4 days then maybe some rain. I've been watering my tomatoes at night but nothing else so far. The creeks are still running above normal for this time of year, so there's pretty good soil moisture still available.

    36.5 this morning. That's very chilly for mid May.

    My corn still isn't up after 10 days. 50s and 60s for highs and 40s for lows is making a major struggle for it.

    It feels like late March or Early April today rather than May 10th. Didn't get out of the 50s today and it's down to 47 right now.

    Planted corn 8 days ago, still not up yet. The ground just isn't warming very fast with 60s/low 40s almost every day. Planted tomatoes and sunflowers today. Got the last in the ground about 5 minutes before the storm hit around 6pm.

    Pretty good straight line winds this evening. Knocked down quite a few trees and limbs. Still some power outages.

    The thunder is crazy this morning. It lasts 15 or 20 seconds per lightning strike. Not sure I've every heard such long lasting rumbles.
