  1. Fire Department reported Tornado on the ground in Scott County.
  2. Hit 23 this morning. Fortunately the actual fruit trees haven't budded yet. I suspect we will have at least one, if not two more Freeze threats before it's over.
  3. Had a few flakes at times today. The wind is brisk.
  4. After 1.18 inches of rain today, going to end March with 14.94 inches of rain.
  5. Anyone else get an error message when trying to use the nws point forecast?
  6. The falls at Little Egypt on Cumberland Mtn in Caryville brought out the flooding version of the guy doing donuts on the interstate during snow events. https://streamable.com/upl4no
  7. We don't get a ton of activity once severe season ends, so this thread should carry us til September/Fall.
  8. The skies are just outstandingly blue today. Didn't see much of that this winter. Was gray most of the year.
  9. A driver tried to cross the flooded creek Saturday night, fortunately the driver escaped. The SUV did not. This popped out today a long way down stream.
  10. 31 this morning. Apple trees are about to bloom here. Low is supposed to be 22 Friday morning. I was hoping the 3 mornings in the low 20s a couple weeks ago would slow the apple trees down but no luck.
  11. The rain is relentless here. I've emptied my gauges 3 times since midnight and it's been 1.3 or 1.4 inches each time, that after 2+ inches yesterday and 3+ 2 days ago. The road in front of my house is a white water river. The bridge below my house has for the first time in my life been overtopped by flood water. Highways are closed here I've never seen flood. Creeks are literally 20+ feet above normal and 10 feet above flood stage here. If you live near running water and at the bottom of a ridge or mountain your house is likely under water here this morning. Some have been reported on the scanner as being completely submerged.
  12. Currently under a downpour. The whole county is reporting 4 or 5 feet of water across roads in various low spots. Creeks that were dredged years ago to prevent flooding are out of their banks. Entire homes are under water in multiple area.
  13. Still very heavy rain falling. The scanner hasn't stopped for almost 3 hours now. It had rained 2 inches between 10pm and midnight. If it will slack off I will head out for another check. We had one penny sized hailer earlier but no where near like other areas have had. Just the flooding here.
  14. You too man. These floods are devastating.
  15. There are about a half dozen boat rescues underway here. A boat dealership had to loan out some boats to the fire departments and rescue squads.
  16. Flooding has reached epic levels here. Homes being washed off their foundations along the mountain creeks. People trapped in houses and campers. Cars under water. Roads impassable. This is the 2nd epic flood like this in two years.
  17. I suspect there's going to be some big time flooding nearly state wide in spots that get dumped on like this.
  18. The rain is just incredible here. Already had 3 inches today and now it's been absolutely dumping down for the last hour. Lightning is near continuous but no severe at all imby.
  19. Just had a hailer finally clear the area. Extremely heavy rain too but not much wind. Flooding is ongoing in the area.
  20. It's rare for me to escape March and April without snow in the air at least. Thus far that has been the case. Hopefully this gives us a late season treat.
  21. Spring has sprung and it's brought rain again this year. After a fairly dry two weeks that actually had a few brush fires in the area the rain has returned. 2.75 inches in the last 24 hours. A 3+ inch event last week. Suddenly the "dry" March is well AN on rainfall imby with over 7 inches so far. A dry Friday looks like it's going to give way to another bout of heavy rain Saturday into Sunday. Possibly another 10 inch month this month. Had more of them in the last 24-30 months than most 10 year periods produce.
  22. Added 1.4 inches of rain but 0 severe at all. Virtually no wind, no hail and barely any thunder and lightning.
  23. No severe here as yet but the rain in just extremely heavy. Had already picked up 1.35 inches today from earlier. Likely to be flooding issues here if nothing else.
  24. Regular season Rick strikes again. Terrible job this year by Barnes.
